1st year Ford built the Ranchero and started using the 9" rear end in their cars and trucks. This Ranchero is a mild custom, done decades ago. The story I got;it was owned by the same owner since 1959 who had to sell it due to age. I've owned it since December last year, hoping to flip it for a profit. I had to put more money and time into it then expected because it was not advertised honestly. Now I'm hoping to break even. Here is the run down. motor is a 312 Y block (verified) with a rebuilt 4 barrel, new electronic ignition, wires, cap, plugs etc. new tires, exhaust, u-joints, brakes up front including wheel cylinders. The tranny is a 4 speed close ration. The rear end runs 3.25 gear ratios making it a good cruiser on the highway (used to be 4.11). I've replaced the rear main seal, valley pan gasket, and valve cover gaskets (the car sat for a long time). There is some rust issues, but I've been able to find all patch panels through EBay; the floor pan is in good shape, no rust that I've found. This Ranchero runs and drives great, it is fun and gets a lot of looks. You can drive as is ortake it to the next level. Look around, you will not find another 57 Ranchero at this price thatis ready for the road. I would keep it butI need money for another project that is sitting in the wings.Ihave this car listed locally so I have the right to sell it before this ad expires; there is no warranty and the buyer is responsible forshipping though I will assist in getting the car to the transporter for I live very rural.
