We're not sure if we should call this a resto-mod, or just the ultimate classic 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2. But you don't need a definition to recognize that the ultra-slick paint, fuel-injected racing motor, five-speed, and a whole lot of other quality features that make this custom build the coolest fastback around. The customization of this Mustang is apparent from every angle. It starts up front with the GT-style fog light grille, modern bright headlights, and the front valance borrowed... from the GT350 racers. The triple rocker stripes are something we love on any performance pony. Plus, the large 17-inch American Racing wheels give this iconic classic a modern and intimidating stance. There's only about 1,200 miles on this car since its full restoration. You can tell they took their time to get the details right on everything from the mirror-like bumpers to the side slats. And the fresh coat of sliver paint highlights all of the iconic curves of this first-year fastback - so it really does look like precious metal. Inside the classic details meet modern aggression in this red and black interior. The black leather Recaro racing seats offer the kind of superior bolstering you could never get in '65. Plus, the rear seats have been replaced to make room for the full modern stereo system that includes an AM/FM/CD receiver, plenty of speakers, and an integrated subwoofer. There's even cold air conditioning to keep you comfortable. But far from a pure coddler, this is a true driver's machine. You see it in upgraded full AutoMeter Phantom gauge panel, and have you counted the gears on the stick shift yet? Under the hood of this Ford icon is another blue oval legend - but a much more modern one. The bright intake announces this is a 5.0-liter fuel-injected Cobra motor. In fact, this is a Boss 302 bought from Roush Yates Racing Engines. Oh yeah, the masters for NASCAR are also the ones behind this power plant! This monster motor is also backed up by the correct supporting components like an MSD distributor, aluminum radiator, and large electric fan. Plus, the growl of the H-pipe dual exhaust lets everyone know you've got something superior under the hood. Best of all, you have complete control over this powerful V8 and its thunderous soundtrack thanks to the Tremec five-speed manual transmission from Keisler Engineering. As you look at how clean the undercarriage photos are, you can really tell that there are less than 1,300 miles on this one since completing restoration. While you're looking down there, don't forget to spot all the performance driving upgrades, such as the Heidts Mustang II-style front end with tubular A-arms. In the rear, there's a major upgrade to a four-link with adjustable coilovers. Plus, power steering, a big four-wheel disc brake upgrade, and the modern grip of BF Goodrich gForce Super Sport tires create a classic fastback with modern moves. The sale comes with restoration photos and a thick file of receipts. In fact, there are so many upgrades, that we just don't have the room to go over all of it here. But give us a call, and we'll give you all the details on this one-of-a-kind street machine. Call now!
