Straight from my garage of unfinished (or in this case, unstarted) projects, comes my broken dreams of building a rat rod. I bought this car about 3 years ago because the body was fairly straight, good glass and it had bucket seats with the center console. I pulled all the seats, rear package tray and center console for my Marauder, got a Title (currently non-op) and haven't done anything else. I've been paying for storage ever since I got the car and haven't even washed it!
At that time I had another Galaxie and a 1964 Mercury Monterey, both finished and replaced with 2 Marauders and a 1971 Checker. I've come to terms that this car will always be last on the list and I will never get started. Now I need the space and cash to finance the other cars.
I have a folder full of receipts that indicates that the previous owner owned it for at least 10 years and kept up with the repairs and maintenance, including a transmission rebuild (currently 4,500 miles on rebuild). Car does not run, engine does not appear to be frozen.
There is several rust on the trunk pan and pass side floor pans (there are reproduction pans available) and rust on the roof and area between trunk and rear window. Rest of the car appears solid. Frame appears solid. All the glass is good, tires are okay.
X code VIN indicates it's a 352ci engine. It comes with a nice vintage Holley 4 bbl. The previous owner paid to store the car in a public lot so he removed the fuses, door rods, etc. to prevent thieves. A lot of the missing parts are in the trunk. 2 large dents on the roof but body looks fairly straight. I will need to finish pulling the metal plate over the trans tunnel as it's part of the center console shifter assembly that I pulled for my Marauder. I have a lot more pictures, just ask!
