Hello and thanks for looking at my 1969 Ford Galaxie XL convertible. It is a great car and I wish I could complete it. Here is my story.
My father was a self proclaimed gearhead from the 60's. I am not. But I loved my father and liked cool old convertibles. I found and bought this beast in 2009 as a way to spend some quality time with my pop. So every Labor day to Memorial day my dad and I would tinker with this old car doing as much work as we could ourselves. I would then drive it some in the summer. I have title in hand and bought it with 71111 showing on the odometer. This isa much loved car and if my father was still with me I would not even entertain selling it but now it is just a painful reminder that I miss my pop...
About the car.... The title when I bought it stated that the mileage exceeds mechanical limits so that is how I am selling it I do not know if it was actual or not. The top is 7 years old and was professionally installed and is in perfect shape. The transmission was professionally rebuilt with a shift kit 2 years ago. It has an Edelbrock intake and 4 barrel carb. It has custom fiberglass door panels that I fabricated myself with a kick ass stereo system (3 amps, 2 subs in the trunk, 6 mids, 4 tweeters and crossover. I do have the original hangers for the door panels. It has HID Xenon headlights that light up the world. It has a custom built stereo console and power windows that I did myself. Power top works as it should. There is no issue that I am aware of with the exception of the fuel gauge. It stopped working a couple years ago and we were unable to figure it out. Has new springs front and rear and sway bars so it corners like it is on rails. Front spring were professionally cut 1 short so it sits lower in the front for what I consider the bad ass look. Duel batteries. One specifically for the stereo system.
There are cracks, rips, holesand lots and lots of character in this 50 year old car. The interior has been completely encased in sound dampening material and has new carpet. The body is in need of the most work. Neither of us were any good at it so we did not do much. As we could, we sanded and POR painted. The flames on the side are a sticker I found on ebay that I thought looked good.
If you have any additional questions please let me know and I will answer the best I can or can take more pictures. Thanks for looking. PLEASE... I do not need help selling. I do not want your opinion on the car or its value or the things I have done to it. Ifyou are interested bid. If you are not don't. I do not need to sell this, Iwould like to. I would drive this car anywhere, however it is sold as-is.
If you should be so fortunate to bid and win this fine car a $500.00 NONREFUNDABLE deposit is due within 48 hours. The balance within a week. You are bidding to buy not to come look at. Please ask your questions ahead of time and check with your wife and all that BS prior to the close of the auction.
Thanks and God Bless.
