1984 Ford F-250 XLT Additional Info:
This truck has been in our family since new. A little history on the truck: my father special ordered it at Charlie Watson Ford Mercury in Lebanon Ohio with an in service date of 7-28-1984. He bought it mainly to pull a Holiday Rambler 5th wheel they owned at the time. The truck lived in Ohio from new until I acquired it after my father's death. In 1999 I drove the truck back to Arizona where it has remained ever since except for the 4 years I lived in W. Texas from 2005-2009.

Work done to the truck during the past year:
- I had the original brass radiator vatted, rodded out and pressure tested by Serek Radiator in Mesa, AZ in June, 2017. New Gates upper & lower rad hoses. Fresh Motorcraft diesel coolant additive and green antifreeze.
- Replace all 8 glow plugs with OEM Delco parts
- Replace original glow plug relay with Borg Warner part.
- Replace rubber fuel injector return hoses and injector cap o-rings.
Damage done to the truck:
- The red and white exterior paint on the truck is original. Too many years of Arizona sun has deteriorated the paint, especially on the roof and hood. There is surface rust on those 2 places where the paint has worn out. There is no body rust through anywhere on the truck.
- In 1987 a Ford dealer tech was getting ready to lift the truck when one of the lift arms slipped off of the frame and did some body damage in front of the RR wheel. The dealership paid a local body shop to make the repairs. The repair has held up well for all of these years but the repair paint is flaking off in one area.
- The windshield is cracked in the lower D/S corner
- Some of the red plastic interior trim panels are suffering from the Arizona heat and have cracked. The worst is by the P/S shoulder harness mount. Both plastic door panel tops are dried out but not cracked. The dash pad is in good condition and is not cracked. The bench seat was kept covered and is in excellent condition!
- Both the coolant recovery bottle and the windshield washer bottle are cracked and falling apart.
Things I am aware of that the truck needs:
- The LR brake backing plate looks wet. I suspect the wheel cylinder is leaking. The brake petal is firm when you apply the brakes. This is the most urgent repair I see. Buyer takes responsibility in determining if they want to drive the truck home or trailer it.
- The air conditioning does not work because the refrigerant has leaked out. The original compressor and condenser were replaced with new Motorcraft parts back in the early 2000's
- The power steering pump shaft seal seeps fluid.
Summary:
This truck has survived all of these years and is pretty much original and unmolested. The only modifications done were to the inside of the bed where holes were drilled to mount tie downs, holes for the 5th wheel hitch (gone now) and holes for the crane. Like I said, the paint is original. The truck has never been involved in an accident. The mileage is original and has not rolled over. The diesel engine has never been apart and runs great! The lights, horn, wipers, heater and cruise control all work. I have all of the original owner's manuals, warranty information, warranty ID card, build sheet and window sticker. I also have the 1984 sales brochure, color chart and buyer's guide. As seen in the photo I have an extensive collection of factory service manuals, emission manuals, body manuals, diesel engine service manuals and wiring diagrams. I also have the Rotunda tool used to set the injection pump timing (78-0100). All of this goes with the truck.
