1979 Ford Bronco XLT Additional Info:

1979 FORD BRONCO RANGER XLT 4BT CUMMINS. This is a one of a kind Bronco achieving 26 mpg highway with the same amount of torque as a 460 or 429 big block! It also has a 1 ton pickup drivetrain!

This is no cobbled up mess, this bronco has been professionally engineered from the ground up to be driven across the country, handle the jeep trails and drive back home again with zero issues. The parts that have been used in this Bronco are all common over the counter parts that can be purchased at any car parts store, a parts list is included in the glove box.

Many many upgrades, the factory drivetrain has been removed (351m C-6 transmission) and NP-205 transfer case which will be include in sale if buyer wants it.

Upgrades:

Engine- 4BT agricultural Cummins diesel with 3000 hrs, (the agricultural and marine versions had the highest hp rating also the ag motor has oil sump in middle of the oil pan, which is made for operating on extreme hillsides without losing oil pressure as well as a larger oil cooler) head was redone in winter of 2015 with upper engine half gasket kit. Injection pump has 3200 rpm governor spring. Engine has slightly larger injectors. Turbo rebuild with 12cm exhaust housing for more efficiency/power on the 4BT exhaust housing is also ported, and it also has larger 8 blade compressor wheel with 4” intake. This engine is intercooled, again for more effinciency and power. Exhaust manifold has been ported.

2001 Ford Powerstroke 4R100 Transmission, Transmission completely rebuild with less than 500 miles with new low stall diesel torque converter. Snap ring upgrade done on trans as well. Transmission has transmission controller under the front seat that can be adjusted depending on driving conditions (snow, rocks, mud, interstate driving etc.) or it can be left alone for regular driving which is where it is set now.

F-350 NP 208 transfer case, disassembled and inspected, everything up to specs

Ford 9” rear end, F-350 shocks, 2 ½” leveling kit.

F-350 braking system, this Bronco stops on a dime,

This Bronco handles like a new vehicle with the shocks upgrade and braking system. Easily can be driven 80 mph interstate speeds. It has never towed anything but it does have receiver hitch and can handle just about anything you want to put behind it.

Interior is in good condition, there is a wear spot in the front seat drivers side, alpine CD player and speakers, interior has sound deadening mats on firewall floorboards doors and tail gate. Very confortable to drive long distances, I take it on family trips out west every other year if I can, Its been from the desert near Vegas, to the top of Pikes Peak Colorado 14,115 ft. It has also been to Glacier park in montana and Yellowstone wyoming

Ice cold air conditioning, good heater all factory gauges work great, factory 4x4 shifter and factory transmission shifter. 2 added gauges are boost gauge and transmission temp gauge.

Paint in overall good condition very little rust, never driven in the winter
