1962 Ford Galaxie Sunliner Additional Info:
History For 1962, the Galaxie name was applied to all of Ford's full size models, as the Fairlane name was moved to a new intermediate model and Custom was temporarily retired. New top of the line Sunliner convertible models offered plusher interiors, more chrome trim outside, and a few additional luxury items over and above what was standard on the plainer Galaxie models. Why This Car Is Special Back in 1962, if you had a blue Ford Galaxie Sunliner with a white convertible top you were a sight to behold! These Sunliner attracted attention back then and they still do today. The color combo this one has and the blue interior to boot really set it off and makes a great impression. Mechanical Under the hood sits the original X-Code 353 engine matching the Vin#. The engine bay looks period correct with the belts, wires, and hoses and even still has the correct FoMoCo coolant overflow bag. The air cleaner and valve covers are original to the car and painted in the correct Ford Blue as is the engine. Add to that some creature options such as air conditioning and oversize custom radiator to keep the engine cool to. The dual exhaust has cherry bomb type mufflers to make a deep exhaust note as you cruise down the road with the Sunliner's three-speed Crusie-O-Matic transmission powering the tires rolling down the road on Cragar SS mag wheels. Interior The Vin # also tells that this Sunliner had a blue interior and ours retains it in blue vinyl with blue and white door panels, a beautiful blue dash with factory correct gauges in the engine-turned dash, and the blue factory steering wheel and blue carpet and cold air conditioning. Exterior All the chrome is good as is the grille and the trim. The white convertible top looks as new and all the body lines look good. It has great visual appeal with the paint color combo of blue/blue/white and riding on the blackwall tires and Cragar mag wheels.
