1970 Ford Mustang Convertible Additional Info:

For Sale by Private Owner, 1970 Ford Mustang Convertible, very professionally restoration. You can read the whole description, or you can just accept the fact this car was completely dismantled, and every inch this car that could be touched, was, and was either stripped, cleaned, primed, painted, or replaced with new if necessary. So now I will try to explain in detail how the car got to where it is today.
In June of 2007 I found this mustang, painted green chameleon (turns purple and blue at different angles), in Phoenix, AZ (Hence the AZ plate is original to it when I purchased the car). The plate has multiple year stickers on it, but had not been registered since 1988. The car had a solid body, and that was about it. It showed signs of not driving in a long time. However, we worked on it for a couple days, and patched together the power train enough and drove it 1500 mile to Calgary Canada. Before We left Phoenix, I had AATCO in Phoenix put in all new upholstery, carpet, and convertible top. The trip was an fun adventure.
The car itself was as base model convertible. Manual drum brakes all around, manual steering, straight 6 with 3 speed transmission. For some reason it did have a deluxe walnut grained wood interior (missing the clock). No AC. And everything was eaten up by the AZ heat and sun.
September 2007, I dismantled the whole car, and chemically stripped all the exterior paint, sand blasted the engine bay, and underside. As mentioned, the body of the car was solid, and absolutely no rust. The floor boards were rusted with pin holes (common with convertibles, as leaky tops allow wet carpet to hold water). All new floor boards were welded into place. The interior, and trunk were coated with a commercial rust prevention oil based primer. The car was then sent to a paint shop to start the restoration. That paint shop had the car 3 months and never touched it. I took the car back, and went to another paint shop that painted the Blue Cougar in the picture. Ugh, he started working on it, got hooked on drugs, had prostitutes, drug dealers and other sketchy people around, so as soon as it was painted, I took it out of that shop. Prior to painting, his staff did a good job, 3 guide coats, and good prep. Because of the circumstances, the car was hastily loaded on a tow truck and hauled off to storage until Oct 2016. In the mean time, the car received lots of small chips and scratches, so I took it to another paint shop (Ross Custom Paint, in Calgary). The decision was made to sand down the whole car, refit all panels, straighten more body lines, and completely paint the car again (another 3 guide coats). This car is straight. After paint, the car was wet sanded, and professionally polished, mirror finish.
The car was ready to be reassembled.A turn key 347 Stroker engine, with Tremec TKO 600 performance 5 speed transmission was ordered from Prestige Motorsports in Concord, NC.
