1938 Ford Other Standard Additional Info:

What we have here is one very well-sorted and super reliable 1938 Ford Standard Coupe. The car has spent the last three years seeing off and on daily drive use with absolutely no issues. The way the car got to this point is that it had been started as a home rebuild for a long time Florida hot rodder. He had found the car in excellent original condition having been tucked away in a garage for over 60 years. With the body and frame in excellent shape upgrades were made to the chassis with a Speedway Mustang II front suspension kit (with disc brakes and a manual steering rack), a Chassis Engineering X-member and pedal kit and a Posies parallel adjustable rear spring kit (hanging a GM 10-bolt rearend).

The drivetrain mated to the chassis starts up front with an aluminum radiator from “Cooled by Ice” followed by a healthy 350 small-block and 350 Turbo Automatic combination. The engine is a freshly rebuilt unit featuring aluminum heads, Edelbrock intake, water pump, pulleys and finned valve covers. The 400hp mill was professionally installed by world renowned builders Hollywood Hot Rods in Burbank, CA and it has enough manners to negotiate daily traffic or can put a smile on your face when pushed a little harder leaving a stop sign. Powder coated steelie wheels wrapped in white wall tires complete the package.

As mentioned earlier the car project began with a very clean rust-free original with absolutely no patch panels or metal reworking required. A black PPG base coat was sprayed right over the factory paint. While current paint still holds its own and looks great when viewed at cruise night or cruising down the street, it should not be considered “show quality” for the most discerning. This is a little bit of truth people usually leave out, but just want to insure the lucky new owner knows exactly what they are getting. Included with the car is the super rare full body stainless steel trim that was chosen to be left off, but could easily put back on with a days work.

Inside is the very striking rich red leather upholstery that is both comfortable and durable. The dash had been kept totally stock and the original gauges have all been professionally reworked to keep track of the of the cars vitals. Completing the retro driving experience is an original banjo style steering wheel to point you in the right direction.
