You are bidding on a 1930 Model A 4-door deluxe town sedan with Murray body. This is the most well-preserved Model A I’ve ever seen. It still has the original mohair interior it came with from the factory, the original set of 3 rear and side window pull curtains with the original tassels, still in good condition, the original wood-grained reveals and dash, original paneling, including the original cardboard type paneling for the cowl. The rubber floor mat in the front also looks original, but I’m not sure.
Other items that are usually gone on these cars but still on this car include the lever arm shock absorbers and the original engine pans that mount on the right and left side of the engine.
I think most of the black paint may be original as well, because you can still see a faint red pin stripe along the belt molding. The doors on this car shut with a pronounced “thud”, just like on a new Mercedes. The wood is all in excellent condition with no warping or rot anywhere that I could find.
I couldn’t find any dings or scratches in any of the stainless, including the radiator shell, headlights, or cowl lights. They just need a good buffing to look like brand new.
The car was in running condition as recently as 6 months ago, but has not been driven or started since then. At the very least, it will need a battery and a tune-up to run, I would guess.
I expect payment within 5 days of the end of the auction. The car can be picked up after your check has cleared my bank. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I can give the name of a good, reliable shipper if you wish. Buyer will be given a Bill of Sale and the open South Dakota Title I received when I bought the car.
