1980 Ford F-250 xlt Additional Info:
This is my project Ford factory 4x4 3.4 ton F-250. I always wanted this year and model. It's been my boat hauler, along with being used up in the mountains in the snow. Time and circumstances are such, I am reluctantly going to sell this truck.
The truck is well used. But has been in California its whole life. It has its dings and dents, along with the paint showing its 37 yrs. It has the original plates from Sept 1980.
Over the summer I put in new electronics. Ignition module, ignition switch, and distributor. It has new wires, plugs, and a rebuilt carb. Because I have not used it, it has formed a hesitation from the lousy fuel we are forced to use. I would presume that would drive out with use and fresh fuel.
The seats could use to be recovered. But everything is there. That is why I bought it. It was all there and easy to restore.
The 400 V-8 has fresh oil and filter. The trans and transfer case has fresh synthetic oil. The brakes could use a good bleeding.Spongy which means they need to be bled. But they stop the truck.
I put a later model tailgate on it, the original gate is in the bed. Ask any question, I'll send additional photos upon request. It is a driver with the title on Non-op in the state of California. It did pass smog when I bought it. So there is no reason it would not at this time, but I would want to drive it for a distance blowing out the old fuel.
The truck is currently behind my gates away from the street. Of course being a 37 yr old truck, while it runs and drives, anything is possible. I cannot guarantee anything except that it will start and drive.
It could use a good cleaning. A windshield. A new owner and someone to love the hell out of it for what it is...a beast that tows my boats, plows through the snow in the Sierras and has a whole lotta personality.
