1939 Ford Tudor Sedan Deluxe circa 1960 High School Hot Rod SCTA Additional Info:
From the day it was first sold it is obvious this car was always cared for and never neglected. The body is straight and rock solid, the doors close with a proper "thunk" and have the gaps of a good factory fit. Likewise the hood and deck lid open and close with the proper factory fit. The grille is original, the running boards have been professionally remolded and the bumpers rechromed. While not up to todays mega expensive show quality paint standards the single repaint which is now decades old is a much better than an average job and has held up extremely well. It still has a bright gloss and needs no apology. The original interior has survived with a gently worn look and is way too good to replace. The headliner is nice and tight with no sagging. The front seat has sufficient wear requiring a seat cover to prevent further deterioration. The dash retains its factory wood grained finish and is impressive with all correct instruments, clock and knobs. The banjo steering wheel rim is not cracked.
The engine is a stock 24 stud flathead with dual exhaust coupled to the three speed floor shift transmission. The original split core radiator still keeps it cool. The chassis has been modified with a dropped axle and front panhard rod. This along with Coker Firestone wide whites, the rears mounted on slightly wider commercial wheels gives it a really great rake.
The seller has enjoyed driving and showing this car for over 20 years and has properly maintained it as needed including replacing the clutch, doing the brakes and installing rebuilt Houdaille shocks in the rear. If you are looking for a car that has never needed to be totally dismantled, that has always been "one car" rather than an assemblage of parts, has never needed patch panels or a floor, isn't loaded with cheap repro parts, here you go! This is a simple user friendly well presented throwback to what a 60's cool ride would have looked like in the day and it is ready to be enjoyed.
The car is located in St Paul MN. It has a clean Minnesota title. IMPORTANT the only acceptable form of payment will be a bank wire transfer in the full amount of the purchase price within 7 days of auction end. No deposits, no checks. The buyer is responsible for arranging transportation to another location or country. The car is listed locally and can be pulled at anytime.
