Time Capsule 1934 3 window coupe! This car was built by Guy Boucher out of Maine in the late 70's into the early 80's. The coupe has changed hands over the years, but has been basically hibernating and in storage. This was a well built hot rod back in the day and still shows and drives well today.
Body - Original Ford 3 window coupe body chopped 4 1/2" in the front and 4" in the rear. Cowl vent still in place and working, rear window rolls down, front windshield still rolls out. original door latches and window regulators. Door handles and hinges in place with the top hinge removed after the chop. Original floor pans still in place. Original fenders, hood top, and deck lid. Gas tank cover and hood sides are reproduction steel.
Paint - Black lacquer that is checked in some areas (please see picture) Kelsey Martin flame job shows really well. Kelsey is still building hot rods and is a member of the New Hampshire hot rod hall of fame. His flames have their own signature.
Chassis - Original 1934 frame with Pete and Jake suspension components to include a 1957 Ford 9" rear end with chrome housing and Pete and Jake Ladder bars. When I spoke with Guy Boucher he stated that Pete Chapouris helped him set up the rear end (remember Pete and Jakes was a new company when this car was built). Front end is Pete and Jake 4 bar set up with mustang steering box. 5" drop, 46" wide axle with Posies super low front spring. I disassembled the front end and polished, re-bushed it and added new king pins. It has the new So-Cal narrow track disk brake set-up.
Wheels/Tires - Rebel 16"x8" "trick 8's" in the rear with Diamondback 255/70-16 that have been smoothed inside and out. Rebel 15" x 4.5" in the front with Diamondback 145/15 that have been shaved inside and out.
Engine/Trans - Small block Chevrolet 400 cubic inch with Chromed Sanderson full length headers, Weiand intake and Edelbrock Carb. Transmission is a turbo 350 with rare Hurst auto-stick shifter.
Interior - Un-touched beautiful diamond tuck and roll in black vinyl. chrome garnish moldings, chrome dash with original gauges, ashtray and cigarette lighter. Sun and Stewart Warner accessory gauges. Stock style 34 seat that is mounted flat to the floor so you sit low in the car. custom chrome steering column, throttle pedal, and brake pedal. Old Superior 500 red metal flake steering wheel.
If you are looking for an un-molested old hot rod this is it. It really is amazing that the 90's and 2000's didn't get a hold of this one as so many cars got re-done and updated with tilt wheels, tweed interiors, air conditioners and digital gauges. This car remains as-built with a few modifications that haven't hurt the car.
