1965 Ford F-100 Additional Info:
I bought this two years ago and planned to drive it as-is, but couldn't leave well enough alone. I started with the motor swap and DJM drop beams but it wasn't enough. By the time all was said and done, almost all of the guts were swapped for late model pieces. Mods are listed below.
- Fuel injected 5.0/302 from a 1994 F150 with roughly 100k miles- Rebuilt Ford (Mazda Kogyo) 5-speed manual- New clutch and slave cylinder- Crown Victoria front clip swap (includes disc brakes and rack/pinion steering, springs are cut, plus custom fab motor mounts)- 8.8 1999 Ford Explorer rear end w/3.27 gears- Rear axle is flipped under the leaf springs, rear frame is c-notched- 1994-2004 Ford Mustang Bullitt Wheels (w/2.5” rear spacers)- Brand new Ron Francis wiring top to bottom- 16 gallon plastic fuel cell mounted in bed (stock tank removed from cab)- New fuel system (sending unit, pump, lines)- Headers (brand unknown)- Dynomax Super Turbo Mufflers- Classic Instruments V8 Red Steelie Series gauges- Custom shift knob made from a vintage Shure 55SW microphone- New hood hinges
The truck is bulletproof as it sits; if I was keeping it I'd throw a Vintage Air system in it (it's hot in Texas) and drop it on bags and call it a day. This is great to drive as-is as a rat rod, or has all of the heavy lifting done for someone that wants to fix up an old truck. The Crown Vic clip is expensive to get done right, plus you get the reliability of a fuel-injected 5.0, the fun of banging gears, and the safety of having disc brakes on all four corners.
Clear title in hand. It's currently parked inside a covered garage. Not in a hurry to sell, but I'm out of garage space and would like to reclaim some of it. I also have pics of some of the build (mostly the suspension stuff) if anyone is interested.
