LOCATION: Cumming, GA (approximately 35 miles north of Atlanta) EXCELLENT INVESTMENT - With the best of the 1950s cars now valued "out of sight", collector attention is now turning to the best of the 1960s classics. Perhaps no car better imagined modern living in the spirit of "The Jetsons" than the Ford Thunderbird. By 1966, the overhead console and "blind rear quarter" roof design were stolen from show cars and dream concepts for production in Ford's futuristic 1966 Thunderbird Town Landau. In this era, Thunderbird defined "personal luxury" and created a new class of car that was imitated - but never matched - by Ford's competitors. The full-control console that was introduced by Thunderbird in 1958 is now a standard feature of practically every luxury class car in the world...for coupes, sedans and convertibles alike. For all these reasons, this 1966 Thunderbird is one of the best bets for those investing in 1960s classics. RARE ORIGINAL (Carbon) DEALER INVOICE...has been laminated for preservation and proves that the Q-code 428 was a factory-installed option! It also documents the highly desirable Arizona origins of the car. There is nothing like the Arizona and southern US climates for natural preservation of classic cars. The body of this car looks/feels as solid as new - which would be unheard of "up north". THE FIRST 12 PICTURES will give you a general overview of this truly special Thunderbird, but if you are seriously interested...we suggest that you look at ALL 100+ images because we want you to see EVERYTHING. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING...TO SEE ALL THE IMAGES: There are over 100 images that will show the car in great detail. BUT, to see ALL of the images, you MUST place your cursor DIRECTLY ON an image...and then scroll gently ALL the way to the bottom (be sure to allow time for all the images to load). CAUTION: If you use the scroll bar to the FAR right of your screen - OR, the "Click to View Image Album" feature - you will NOT be able to see all the images! Over 2,800 TRANSACTIONS WITH HAPPY PEOPLE! As of the date of this listing, we've had over 2,800 transactions (both Buying and Selling) on eBay without a single complaint. One of the keys to our success is to show larger and more images than almost any other eBay listing...so you can clearly see what you are getting. We also give a very detailed description of the car...not just a couple sentences like many listings. QUESTIONS?...after reviewing ALL the images and reading the entire description, please call Jim Murphy if you have any questions: 706-429-7924 IMPERFECTIONS - NO car is perfect. Just because this Thunderbird graduated from the "Primary" class to the highest ranking "Senior" class...and won a 1st place award, does NOT mean the the car is "perfect", though it most certainly is among the nicest in existence. Please be sure to look at ALL the images at left. We let the camera "look" everywhere we can think of...to show you what the car really looks like. In the vast majority of cases, this approach shows how nice this car is, but it also (intentionally) shows some imperfections. OPERATIONAL REPORT - most importantly, the car drives with ease, shifts nicely, and delivers refreshing COLD air. It is ready to be enjoyed and gets enthusiastic looks everywhere it goes. We did however, notice some relatively minor items that were not operational, such as: no overhead warning lights, when "Flasher" is selected - only the front directionals flash, Emergency Brake must be manually released, and Side-View mirror must be adjusted by hand. Power side windows are sometimes slow, and the 8-track tape mechanism - though working - is a bit noisy. ODOMETER NOTE: due to its 1966 design limitations, the actual mileage since new, cannot be determined with certainty for this car.
