1977 Ford F-250 Ranger XLT Additional Info:
1977 Ford F-250 4 X 4. This truck started out in California in 1977, found it's way to Oregon until December of 2016 when I bought it and shipped it to Florida. As far as I know this truck is all original with the exception of the motor and radio. I was told the original 400 was swapped for a 1978 460 with less than 80,000 (no way to verify, but it was a reputable seller). The upgraded stereo is a Kenwood cd player with aux. in. Suspension is stock with no lift. Odometer reads 20k but I do not know the actual mileage. Here is a list of some of the things I did after purchasing:
New ac system including new compressor, condenser, dryer, pressure switch and R134.New RadiatorNew carburatorHEI distributorAll new windshield washer systemNew Hella hornsAll new window and door seals, except windshield.New rear sliding windowAll new led interior light bulbsAll stainless interior trim screwsDrivers door window regulatorAlmost new 35" B.F. Goodrich allterrian tires (biggest possible with no rubbing)New exhaust with 18" chrome tips
Condition is very subjective so I will do my best to describe it accurately without opinion.Mechanical: There are no known issues. Starts fast, runs and idles great. AC blows cold air, heater works, transmission shifts strong and 4x4 works as it should. Brakes work good with plenty of stopping power. Rotors and drums are good. The suspension is tight and quiet. There is one small drip from the tail of the transmission, we replaced the seal but it came back. The tail piece was turned but it still had a couple of deep pits.Body: All original with no body work. The paint is mostly shinny but has areas of surface rust where it has worn thin. The drivers door has been re-painted from the window sill to the door moulding below the mirror. Was not professionally done but looks adequete. The top of the tailgate show signs of paint and repair also. There are several scratches and minor dents overall and two more significant ones - one at the rear passenger side by the bumper(there when I bought it) and one on the passenger side hood courtesy of Hurricane Irma. Both are pictured. The condition of the the paint would rate a "poor" for a newer vehicle but for a 40 year old truck I preferred it original.Interior: New carpet and seat cover by previous owner. I replaced all the window and door seals including track felts. New instrument plate housing and printed circuit overlay, all new led bulbs. All lights, gauges, wipers, squirters, fans etc. work as they should. The horn has a minor grounding issue and sometimes you need to move the wheel slightly to make it work. The ac is all new and blows cold air as it should but for an uninsulated black truck in Florida it leaves a little to be desired.
This truck is a blast to drive and it is extremly quick with the 460. The dual exhaust with turbo mufflers sounds nice and throaty but not loud. My intention was to pair this up with a 1971 Airstream I have and hit the road. But after driving it a while I realize I prefer my 2010 for comfort.
Please ask questions, I have bought several vehicles on Ebay and every one was a good experience. This is my first time selling one and I'll do my best to help make this a good experience for you. I have no connections for shipping but I paid $1,200.00 to ship it here from Oregon (for reference).
I will not reveal the reserve but it is less than I paid for it. No "Buy it now" and it is not for sale locally so the auction will run the duration.
Please contact me before bidding if you have less than 5 positive feedback.
