This is a rare and unique Superformance HiTec GT40 MKII. The HiTec serial number is GT001, making it the earliest MKII in public ownership and the first one built. The Safir serial number is GT40P2024, also a very low serial number, preceded by only four other cars. The vehicle is titled as a 1966 Ford GT40 and is fully street legal. There are many one of a kind elements in this masterpiece. The dash is a J-Car design, which is far more attractive and masculine than the standard GT40 dash. The center console is an authentic period Abbey Panels unit, exactly the same as in the original cars, as is the period rear view mirror. The engine is a 427 cubic inch Roush experimental unit with fuel injection, putting out about 580hp with similar torque. The transmission is a RBT ZF unit with an upgraded shift kit from Olthoff Racing, who did the assembly, testing, and race/street preparation on the car with input from Holman and moody. The car has been featured in vintage events at Daytona and Sebring. Many hours and dollars have been spent to make this beautiful example reliable yet awesome. When shown, this GT40 is the undisputed winner... when driven the experience is visceral and unforgettable.
