1973 Ford Mustang Convertible Additional Info:

Real deal 1973 Cobra jet aka Q code Mustang convertible with just over 30k miles. Untouched, all original, marti report tells it all. Very rare and last of the cobra jets! Ac works, power top etc etc. Look at pic of Marti report and it says it all. Runs and drives!! I havent done much to car aside from swap the battery!!! Amazing car. Only reason for sale is to head south and help those affected by the hurricanes. This car is amazing! I planned to keep and pass down to my son but being its not a rot box etc I feel its best to go to someone who will maintain it. This car has the original buyers card and window sticker from second owner. The build sheet is still under the back seat. Only part missing is the spare tire. Aside from that everything is there. Serious ford enthusiasts would love this car being 1 of 293 made with the last cobra jet before it was gone!! This is the 351 cobra jet with 4 barrel carb.. awesome car to drive!! All original! Great shape.

This is truelly a unique and rare car. Everything works as it should. This isnt a restoration, this is truelly in amazing shape. No rot no major issues and it runs and drives perfectly. This def is worth alot more than my reserve therefore If serious the bidding should be up alot more. If it doesnt get close i will lower the reserve and start tge bidding higher. This is a deal and I know Ill regret selling this car as Ill never find one as rare or exactly alike. I will post better pictures later this evening detailing the marti report, within the trunk and all around the car to show that it truelly is a well preserved time capsule. The 1973 mustangs have been up and coming for awhile. Maybe not considered the most desired Mustangs but to those who are collectors, this is a solid car to add to any collection. I hope someone get to enjoy this car as much as I did. Goodluck to all and yes everything is numbers matching as well. I promise you wont find another car like this with all of the options within the marti report that does not need a major restoration. Id be shocked if someone did find one identical. Thank you all and again goodluck! Id love to see this car go to a good home. This is a great imvestment you will not be dissapointed!

Taking a gamble and dropping the reserve! Happy bidding!

Fyi reserve is 6300.00 this car is worth alot more. It hasnt been restored, could use some freshning up. The marti report reads true its decor group consisted of chrome trim and black coating yo edge of rocker panels. Why, maybe this was how the original owner ordered it along with the rest. Confirmed the block is a 72 which makes sense as it was scheduled yo be built in 72 but was late as the order came in by 10 days. Regardless heads stamped with a 4 for 4v not 2 for the 351c 2v this is a 351cj 4v make no mistake this was at best 266hp in that time with a convertible it was fast. The front valance is gone. I will order a new one and put it on. I had full intentions on keeping this car as far as writing all the info from previous owner down the first owner had past and family had vert little info. It solf again in 03/4 & from a dealer in Pa. For 14,583 at that time.. im sad to say the least noone sees the value. As any older car you have upkeep and for its age, mileage etc we all know as car ppl and or enthusiasts that it wont take much to regain a value instamtly and or drpending what you do.. floors solid. Trunk etc. I will post as many pics tomorrow as possible. This is a huge loss esp at the bids as of now but I cant help south if im not there.. someone is getting a heck of a dral and the car is what the marti says to the vim, to the car, secomd owner got dementia. Told his wife sell it to someone for this much when the time was right who will enjoy it. Id loke this car to go to a good home. To each their own I just personally would like to see someone hold onto this car as the 3rd owner. GOODLUCK! Not alot of time left!

Some extra pics including the number 4 stamp on the head and trunk pan as asked for by many interested parties. Few things to note. Front chin spoiler is missing, power attenna knob missing but works. Clutch petal rubber off but do have along with original shifter ball. Surface rust on firewall no rot. Overall a generally sound running and driving 73. Everything appears to be solid. Block does indeed match. Some service records come with the file as well. Reserve is 6300 taking a gamble but lets see what she will do. I do have the right to show the car and end the auction at any time as I do have two local parties interested. Thanks and goodluck!

Met a real cool gentleman today who came to look at the car who is also a member of MCA. He really knows a great deal about nustangs and prefers these years as well. I dont want anyone saying I didnt disclose everything so there are things in which he had pointed out and I agree with. This is a cobra jet and most everything is factory. Minus the carb and carb hat itself. The carb is a holley 4 barrel which most ppl had reolaced. He had pointed out the seats werent worn out with a "wallet tear" or rubbed or torn meaning this truelly can be a low mileage car. However the bad. The quarters had been replaced more than likely by the first owner in wgicb I havent been sucessful in contacted yet to get a full history to complete tbe story or know why. The car was solf through a dealer in P.a. to second owner in 04 for 14k plus. The trunk pan is solid but drop offs arent the greatest. To make this a legit show car. Youd want to redo the quarters, inner fenders are ok, gutters are ok, everything else is ok, some surface rust on firewall and around the cowl dishes. This can be or should be a solid restore. No holes in floors and if you ask me Id restore it. After talking with him I gained a knowledgable friend. Very cool to hear about different styles and why. I thought car came with dual exhaust but no just the hangers if someone had ordered it with dual the marti would state so. For whatever reason the quaryers were replaced. My best guess is it wasnt always garaged until second owner but again I wouldnt know for surr yet. It was ordered with a geck of a package and interior is in amazing shape. He pointed out its a good car and good foe the right buyer. Again I didnt want any secrets or suprises. Im dropping the buy it now price for sometging a hit more realistic and after hearing the rarity im keeping in mind all that would entale. Im torn now truelly. I cant let the car go i guess moral is dont buy a car if you have a bad neck and back lol but I did buy a great car just with more secrets so Im disclosing everything. My apology. Let this be known please and please keep in mind. The tail pieve between the lights also is a mach 1 style a honeycomb trim panel. In addition the rear bumper is different or at very minimum missing the bumper protectors. So to speak the black rubber the length of bumper and the two ones that would be below both tail lights. I forget the exact term for these. Again to make this car perfect and a perfect show car or even investment the motor will want tyo be freshened up and trans is a nice toploader. Just go through these and have car sand blasted while out. Replace rear quarters. I would. And find the period correct air assembly. It is a rare car with many options but Marti had screwed up with rear window defogger. This is not a perfect car but a perfe t car to reetore 100% and you will have possibly 1 of 1 and 1 of a kind. Now with everything out there I hope the new owner is satisfied and happy. I wish I could keep it Im afraid ive lost alot already but my body, family, and future means more. I do hope whoever gets this car keeps it up and even maybe updates me on progress. This may soumd like an odd request but I do love the car. Im just not in a good position and hence the sale of this, my flatbed and my 72 formula parts imcluding built 455 by butler etc. Hope this answers all and any questions. Thanks to Bill who helped give me more knowledge etc Im confident now disclosing everything and that this still is 1 of a kind. Thank you and goodluck with

Getting close to the last 24 and showing this car loacally one last time this evening. Have an offer way past what this is at and what I expected. even my flatbed is doimg horrible right now with 50 minutes left. This is my trip south to help essentially. I will cancel this auction if the gentleman pulls through a deposit this eve otherwise hopefully it does comsiderably better. All around its a great car that can use updating but as a colllector this is a car to add to any collection period
