The Gone In 60 Second Eleanor film inspired many to create reproduction fastbacks that are coveted still today. Along with the array of custom cars previously mentioned a few tasteful convertibles were constructed.

If you have been waiting on a quality investment rag top that is super fun & ready to be fully enjoyed with a style of its own “this may be the one for you”!

There’s quite a bit that can be said for this unique convertible pony car. Every single person that comes in contact with it absolutely loves it!

The admiration starts at first blush and gets worst when the ignition is engaged! Once the vicious sound trumpets from the chambered side exhaust it commands attention from anyone in earshot!

Don’t miss out on this once in a life time opportunity! The serious buyer is encouraged to call (314) 649-8227 to find out how to acquire it before the next guy does!

This brilliant blue muscle machine presents itself well from all angles.

It was originally delivered to Dewey Ford in Des Moines Iowa many moons ago. History points to it being driven as a demo by the finance manager.

Nevertheless the car made it all the way to Destin Florida sometime in the nineties. After the commute there was a period of approximately ten years when it was laid idle.

At this point the owner made a decision to sell the car rather than have her sit any longer.

It was subsequently sold to a collector in New Jersey.

Shortly thereafter the production of “Gone In 60 Seconds” the movie made an impact on him so he contracted a high profile custom shop to manufacture a car suited to his taste.

They immediately decided to invoke upon a mission to create a unique version ….with a twist!

Unanimously all involved agreed on dressing it in an amazing shade of B/5 Blue!

The color shows wonderfully at any given time of day however it almost looks wet in direct sunlight!

There was a 12 month window for completion before the work was started. Unfortunately the task wouldn’t be finished for almost 18 months (well worth it).

When all was said and done they took it to a few shows & won several trophies. One such show was a benefit for the family of fallen soldiers which made it all worth wild.

The paint and body really needs to be seen to be appreciated! If you know custom cars you’re certainly aware of how delicate one needs to be with fiber glass when the body is being contoured. It gives me great pleasure to say the time and care poured into the fabrication of this one is immediately evident.

The body panels are situated appropriately and nicely aligned. There is absolutely no damage to speak of.

I am a bit picky so if I was going to be critical at some point concerning it I would probably critique the calibration of the rear spoiler of not only this recreation but all (no exact science).

There may also be a couple of superficial nicks / or scratches but certainly nothing worth being alarmed about.

Nevertheless the total picture is quite striking!

The menacing big block hood with protruding center hump sets properly in between the fenders. The fit and finish is commendable!

Making your way further around the circumference of the vehicle you will notice that both doors are even with the body line.

A foot or so away from ground level high performance side exhaust are easily detected.

Titanium passage ports have been incorporated into the system underneath to stay one step ahead of rust and the outside elements.

A set of iconic Shelby side scoops sweep their way into the quarter panels wonderfully!

All of the corresponding trim & bright work happens to be in excellent condition as well.

My personal favorite happens to be the ominous gold encrusted Cobra GT 500 fender badges warning Chevy fans that a big block could possibly lie in wait (more about that later)!

From bumper to bumper she’s pleasing to the eye.

To help compliment this unique pony cars exterior a beautiful ebony black convertible top shields the interior (looks just as good up as it does down).

A pair of legendary black matte racing stripes provides the perfect contrast & completes the picture!

TAKE A CLOSER LOOK!

From the moment you open the door it is easy to appreciate the Carroll Shelby imprinted bucket seats and sports car laced cockpit!

Both are equipped with a side adjusting mechanism that helps to provide superior lumbar support!

A “GO BABY GO” raw steel GT 500 shifter is fixated in between (begging to be gripped) with matching accelerator / brake pedals tucked in down below!

New loop pile carpet and BRIGHT BLUE Cobra embossed floor mats help to further grace what’s inside!

Shiny gloss black doors with deluxe style door panels also add just the right touch! New window cranks, door handles & hardware have been installed.

The quarter panel trim located in back is simply flawless (nice convertible button snaps are intact).

If one needs yet more reasons to make people passing by envious “the convertible roll should do the trick”!

Up front you will find a perfect mahogany flavored walnut wheel & nicely accented dash pad. An upgraded Mustang stereo takes place of the original. There’s a GT 500 emblem adjacent to it that’s in perfect harmony!

A bold collection of argent colored gauges thrust out from the center section enticing you to mash the pedal!

NICELY DONE!

As with almost everyone who comes in contact with this muscle machine “enquiring minds want to know” what’s underneath the hood?

I’m happy to say that when the lid is lifted no one ever leaves disappointed.

The block that was sanctioned to terrorize the streets in this custom car is an early production 390!

A 3.98 stroke crank was added along with an unprecedented laundry list of additional performance parts to give it more heft than a 428!

Up top and eager to run full throttle is an Edelbrock Victor manifold high performance intake!

Optimal performance is a cinch thanks in part to a matching set of high performance Edelbrock carburetors!

8 MM silicone Taylor Inc. performance wires & zero degree Blaster spark plugs breathes life into the set up.

AC Delco belts are wrapped around each pulley. A Select Team solenoid ensures reliability!

To top things off she’s always cool in the fast lane thanks to the four core be kool radiator, Mishimoto thermostat & McLeod braided racing lines.

An oval Cobra air cleaner & Shelby valve covers shields the performance parts (great shape)!

A TKO 5 speed transmission has been mated to the block so she can handle all of the power at the rear wheels (amazing torque Dyno above 500 H.P.)!

This vintage vehicle breathes like none other. An excellent set of MTC American racing long tube headers & Borla Competition performance mufflers supplies the power flow!

Ultra 454 Code Racing Mag Wheels links it all together! Valera performance tires hug each rim.

Handling is also optimal thanks in part to many upgraded suspension components.

Slotted & cross drilled Prime Choice Evolution ensures the best in braking!

There are entirely too many new suspension parts installed to list!

Again this vehicle is ready to be enjoyed fully! The time, resources and labor hours spent to formulate what has been produced can’t be properly measured “rare opportunity”!

Here’s yet more good news “she’s just as nice underneath”! Expect to find rock solid, frame, floor boards & drop offs.

Every part has received individualized care & consideration “she’s dependable”!

The trunk was also included in the customization of this car! Opening it at the local shows will command attention!

At the end of the day I can say that this vintage vehicle would be a nice addition to your collection! It will be listed elsewhere so the serious buyer in encouraged to call. I am available anytime (314) 649-8227.
