1968 Ford F-250 Camper Special ROLLING CHASSIS. This rolling chassis was restored for my Camper Special Project, but I have decided to put it back together as a Short Wheel Base. The rolling chassis is being sold with the title (TX title in my name), a reproduced data tag from Marti Auto, the original data tag and a detailed Marti Report. The truck was originally equipped with a 390, automatic transmission, power steering, power DISC brake truck from the factory. FE engine pedestals and Transmission Crossmember are included.
The frame is powder coated and the front suspension was completely rebuilt with NEW shocks, rotors, bearings, races, calipers, king pins, pivot bushings, coil springs and radius arm bushings. Tires are NEW. The truck originally came with 16.5" wheels, but I found an identical set of 16" factory wheels and had them powder coated white. The brake HOSES have been replaced, but the brake lines have not been installed. All of the original brake lines are included and are in excellent condition. It was my intention to clean and reuse the factory brake lines except for the two on the rear end.
The rear end is a Dana 60 with 3.54 gears on a Trac-Loc limited slip carrier. Rear end was in very good working order, before tear down so it was not rebuilt. The drums were turned and all brake parts including springs and wheel cylinders were replaced. Backing plates were removed, media blasted and painted before brakes were assembled. Housing was thoroughly cleaned and primed, before painting.
This truck has a frame mounted extra gas tank from the factory that included a large skid plate. The skid plate, all brackets and the dual tank valve have not been restored, but are included. The old gas tank and a NEW IN THE BOX tank with a NEW sending unit is included.
New radiator support BUSHINGS WITH HARDWARE and cab BUSHINGS WITH HARDWARE are included.
This truck came from the West Texas and there is absolutely no damage from rust on this frame. The frame is straight and in beautiful condition.
