1928 Ford Model A Leatherback, rare cowl vent Additional Info:
1928 Ford Model A Leatherback Sedan, with rare original cowl vent
This car really needs to be seen to be appreciated, spent most of its life in Sandwich NH and then went into a private collection where it has been carefully maintained. Car has less then 12,000 original miles.....yes this car has not been restored or taken a part.
Green paint and interior is all original, black paint has been repainted, hood has also been repainted, car runs and drives excellent. Body has been hand rubbed and polished, top has been recently replaced with Lebaron Bonney top, new Firestone tires and tubes, 6 volt alternator has been put on to make vehicle more reliable, leakless water pump and aluminum fan has been installed, glass appears to be all original, windows all go up and down with no effort, doors open and close excellent, radiator shell is new nickel plated shell, steering and front end is tight, transmission shifts nice, rear end and transmission are quiet and operate as they should. Distributor has been rebuilt with modern upper and lower NuRex plates for reliability.A new exhaust was installed about 15 years ago. Gas gauge was rebuilt with modern neoprene float for today's gas.
Body and fenders are all original Henry Ford metal and exceptional straight and solid. Fenders where not removed from car when painted and required absolutely no body work. Fenders look great. Wheels were sandblasted and painted, wheels are in excellent condition.
Cars are only original once and to find a vehicle of this agein this condition today is very rare. This car is ready to drive and enjoy. This past August I drove this car to the Stowe VT car show(160 miles one direction)with no issues.
Cowl vent is original and was only done for a short time in 1928, you do not see these very often.
I have a clear NH title in my name for this car, interested parties are encouraged to come see the car in person. Car can be seen by appointment in Milton NH. Car is also for sale and advertised locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early.
