1989 Ford LTD Country Squire LX Additional Info:
Up for bids is my 1989 Ford LTD Country Squire LX Station Wagon. I bought this car a few months ago as a project to return to the road but after acknowledging my list is longer to complete than free time I have for the rest of my life, I have decided to part ways with it.
It is an 89, the last year for the good, airbag-free dashes that have odometers that do not break!
This car is actually better than I expected when I bought it. It is a life long southeast car, going from Georgia to South Carolina to Raleigh NC and back down now to SC.
This car is pretty well loaded. It came factory with the following
Power front disc brakesPower SteeringVent Wing door windowsPower Windows including tailgatePower antenna (broken off but will include a new mast)Power Mirrors
Power LocksCornering LampsIlluminated EntryTripminder w/ClockDual Exhaust (+10 HP more than standard exhaust engines)Posi-Traction Rear EndTowing PackageAutomatic Climate Control (needs work)Third row dual facing seatsAutomatic headlightsCruise ControlRoof RackAftermarket CD Player
It is completely rust free, with a small ding to the front drivers fender trim, a light dent in the tailgate, and it does need a new header panel for the grille and drivers side headlight assembly.
The alloy wheels are in great condition, as well as are the seats. It does however need some interior work on the door panels and the headliner needs reconditioning. The windshield has a hairline crack in the top up in the blue tint but does not effect drivers sight. The power windows are inconsistent and will need attention. It will need new vinyl woodgrain available from JC Whitney. The dash pad is very weathered but I will include another that is not perfect but is in much better condition.
To be put back on the road it will need to have a full brake job. The brakes on the car work but they stick in the front. It needs a new battery and a new set of tires. The engine and transmission however run and drive strong with no hesitation on the roadways, and shift as it is supposed to. I have installed a brand new alternator on the car so the charging system is in proper operating condition. Car will have a battery in it however it does need to be replaced.
The car was last on the road in NC I believe in 2012 and between now and then the title has been lost. However the VIN is clear with no theft or wreck or total damaged history and a bonded title can be obtained through your state DMV. I will supply my bill of sale when I purchased the car along with my bill of sale to you. Car will need to be trailered to its new home. Full payment is to be received within 10 days of auction end and car needs to be taken home within 14 days.
Thanks for looking and if you have any questions please ask! I will also be listing a 1986 Country Squire LX and a 1989 Mercury Colony Park parts car. Both cars are fully loaded.
