Ford Motor Company made a dramatic move in the commercial vehicle market at the beginning of the 1942 model year. While competitors Chevrolet and Dodge were slow to adopt integrated fenders and headlights, Ford did so in a single sweep. The new truck cab had full width fenders with lights embedded in the catwalk area between the fenders and grille. The grille itself was a waterfall design which was painted in a contrasting color.
Finished in Village Green with Tan accents, this 1947 Ford pickup is the recipient of a complete nut and bolt restoration. As of the time of restoration, the truck was meticulously restored from top to bottom. The Ford features a fanatical level of detail from the paint, to the interior, to the undercarriage.
Everything on the truck was restored or replaced and it is as clean underneath as it is on top. The paint is done and base/clear and has been wet sanded and buffed to a high quality finish. The undercarriage is highly detailed and features a frame that was media blasted and refinished in the correct black sheen. All of the suspension and brake components are show quality as well and have been completely rebuilt. Throughout the truck, you’ll find all new hardware everywhere you look.
The interior has been completely restored and features the correct floor mat, and the correct firewall cover and all new correctly sheathed wiring. The cardboard headliner is proper and is new as well. The gauges have been fully restored and look as-new, as has the steering wheel. The seat has been restored and has been covered in the correct brown vinyl seat cover. Don’t miss the very cool Bake-A-Lite shift knob either.
The engine compartment is highly detailed Flathead V8 engine. It is is coupled with a 4-speed transmission that shifts great. It has a solid front axle and live rear axle with longitudinal semi-elliptic leaf springs, 4-wheel hydraulic drum brakes and a 114" wheelbase.
For the vintage pick up enthusiast looking for a beautifully restored ride, this pickup is serviced, detailed and ready to go.
