1956 Ford Thunderbird for sale in Panama City, FL 32404
This is a striking 1956 Ford Thunderbird. The first-generation Thunderbirds were some of the most iconic automobiles ever created by Ford. They came onto the scene in 1955 in direct response to the Chevrolet Corvette and many European sports cars of the time. The original concept looked a bit foreign and the actual production model proved to be more American and luxurious.
This fine example is just jaw-dropping. It features the original shade of Peacock Blue with matching blue and white interior, peacock blue hardtop without porthole and white soft top.
Powering up this iconic beauty is the original matching numbers 312 Cubic Inch Y-Block mated to the 2-Speed Ford-O-Matic transmission which was very similar to the Powerglide of the time.
This car had some great options for that era, including a hood scoop, fender skirts, both tops, Ford Master Guide power steering and Swift Sure Ford power brakes.
Driving this car with the top down/off is like taking a trip down memory lane. Most old cars from the '50's and '60's can be cumbersome and difficult to drive but not this rare classic. One turn of the key and the V8 comes to life and this car rides and handles like a more modern car and is sure to get plenty of attention on the road.
Garage kept for 35 years, new paint (correct paint for this 1956 model), new chrome, new tires and new carpet. The generator and carburetor have been rebuilt. Engine includes the dress up kit and the hubcaps are wire style wheels. Only 58,900 original miles on this beauty.
Own a piece of history with this beautiful Thunderbird, a Collectors timepiece of automobile history!
