1924 Ford Model T PHAETON Additional Info:
Up for sale is a 1924 Model T Ford Touring Phaeton 3 door convertible(no driver's door from the factory). Neat old car with lots of potential. This car runs and drives. It has been sitting for roughly a year. It does still start, but the float is stuck in the carburetor, as it starts, runs for a little, sputters then leaks gas from the carb. It will need a carb cleaning or rebuild, then you will have a running, driving, braking "T". It has the original engine. The serial number on the engine, 10143582, matches the clea, open North Dakota title, 1924. It has the electric and hand crank start. The electric starter works fine, as well as the horn and lights. Obviously the car needs the interior redone and it is missing the top frame (I see OEM top frames on Ebay go for $200-300, it just takes waiting).. The chassis and frame rails are very nice for the age. The body is ok, it's all steel, no fiberglass replacement parts at all. The body and paint look nice from 10 or 20 feet. Get up close and you can see some evidence of body work down low(below the doors). The bodywork was done in metal( a magnet sticks everywhere), and has some body filler over it. There is some wavyness in the putty work. The worst is under the driver's door, or where the driver's door would be if it had a 4 door. It wasn't Chip Foose who did the body and paint on this one for sure. The wood wheels are in good shape. The tires have plenty of tread, but have light age cracks. The tubes hold air fine. You can drive it around in parades like it is and get all the waves and smiles, or redo the body work if you want a show car. I have described the car to the best of my ability. Please understand it's a 92 year old car, that could use freshening up. It's a project, that won't take much to be a decent driver, it's not a show car. Please ask questions before you bid. No whining afterward. And if you win the car, PLEASE PAY for it. Buyer is responsible for pickup from my house in Boynton Beach, Florida, 33472. Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements, although I will help you any way I can, and will be home to help your driver load it on trailer if needed. $500 deposit due within 48 hours of winning. Full payment due within 2 weeks after winning. The car should be taken away within two weeks, If you are out of state and need little more time to get it, just let me know, I can work with you as long as you don't let it get out of hand and have paid me within 2 weeks. .
