There’s much that can be said about this Custom Mustang however, I will try to be brief describing its overall condition, history and drivability.

The car you see pictured here was originally purchased by a gentleman who was in the business of collecting Fords.

He was an assembly worker at the Ford plant in Hazelwood Missouri until he retired in 1999.

Originally purchased in the Mid West this blue oval became very familiar with Interstate 70 over the first eleven years of ownership.

Being a skilled tradesman his services were in great demand by the company so he drove the Mustang frequently to the sister plant in Claycomo, Mo (Kansas City …approx 190 miles). Although well traveled the car was meticulously maintained throughout his years of ownership.

After retirement a new owner became the overlord of the vehicle and actually made a few passes with it at Gateway International in Granite City Illinois.

Sometime around the fall 2003 it began to see much more garage time and was eventually shelved until 2012.

This is when he invoked upon a restoration of sorts that changed the car substantially.

What has to be spoken of first is the cars incredible Ferrari RED exterior! The best adjective that can be used to describe it would be “STRIKING”!

It is hard to explain the true essence and shade of color utilized to cover the exterior however it’s beyond intense! The color is near blinding in direct sunlight and really commands attention wherever this pony travels!

The base coat clear method was employed to complete the paint task so the body is smooth to the touch! All of the panels are very uniform and the gaps are in line with factory tooling specs.

All of the original chrome, stainless and supporting trim has either been replaced or refurbished.

New front and rear bumpers were installed (N.O.S. sanctioned components).

The head light bucket trim, grill edge moldings & chrome back up light retainers are all in incredible shape.

A pair of aggressively styled Shelby side scoops shakes up the exterior considerably & wins the praise of each and every individual sight!

Total nostalgia is in full force whenever looking at it from the tail section thanks in part to the GT style pop open gas cap (Cobra Insignia)!

Keeping with the Gran Turismo theme is in order when checking out the rear valance panel as well. It is laced with dual exhaust ports!

All of the emblems and markers have been updated (shiny / new)! To give the car even more of a custom look the M.U.S.T.A.N.G. emblems that were attached on the fender are eliminated!

An upscale stainless trunk edge molding further accents the exterior nicely!

Each and every tail light bezel was replaced along with the factory insulation.

Guarding this fireball from rock chips and road debris is a cinch thanks in part to a stellar set of rocker panel moldings (excellent shape).

The race ready turn signal louver hood is in excellent condition it has received new wiring / bulbs, etc!

Every piece of glass including the front and rear windshield is damage free.

Again this Mustang is ready for any venue

Now that details have been discussed regarding the exterior let’s see what she has to offer inside!

Upon opening the door of this 68 Ford you will find a very inviting interior!

The original black standard buckets and rear bench are in pristine shape! The complete interior was restored ala cart beginning in 2012.

The hold pattern is very respectable and there are no rips or tears to be spoke of.

The seat buns and seat cushions have a significant amount of padding so the lumbar support is better than most.

A decent center console can be easily identified which is located between both buckets. It is a welcomed addition in the Mustang “perfectly suited”!

The dash pad was replaced when the restoration was underway (excellent condition / free from damage).

Left to right you will find a near perfect set of factory style door panels with new attaching hardware!

The inner quarter upholstery is still crafted in its original form (shows well). The packing tray & headliner coincides perfectly together (nice condition).

All of the gauges respond as they should when the ignition is engaged.

An aftermarket modern stereo is nestled nicely underneath which really works well inside.

There will be no problem keeping a firm grip since there’s a new custom steering wheel!

Loop pile carpet covers the base from front to rear. A wonderfully crafted set of Race ready FLAME RED COBRAFLOOR MATS help to provide a custom look while simultaneously shielding the cockpit area from dirt!

All & all the interior of this Mustang is well presented. It quickly helps to recall a time when auto manufacturing was subtle yet impressive.

She even has a nice Ultimate molded trunk mat & spare to boot!

Now that I have given several reasons why most people love the Ford Brand…… I will talk about what makes the Mustang Americas favorite pony car!

No Mustang can truly be considered a muscle car without having a factory V/8!

The power plant that gets this vehicle moving is its original built C – Code 289 engine! The block was given a makeover in 2013 of monumental proportions! Many internal components were replaced with much more high performance hardware. Harland rockers, Weiand pistons & Eagle connecting rods ensures that each ride is a thrilling one! A four barrel Holley feeds the fuel while the Edlebrock performer intake pushes the power!

A chrome air cleaner sits on top complimented by pedestrian Ford blue valve covers!

New plugs, wires, thermostat, distributor cap, ignition coil, solenoid, belts, hoses, water pump, fuel pump and too much more to list has been added for maximum performance and dependability.

Again this vintage vehicle can be enjoyed at your leisure but if you have a desire to bark the tires at a stop light (the power is on tap)!

LET’S FIRE HER UP!!!

The radiator was serviced recently and a new cap was installed. All of the power steering components have received a clean bill of health

(no leaks, etc).

A set of Stop Tech Slotted & Cross Drilled rotors have been incorporated for optimal braking power (looks incredible)!

The master cylinder and master cylinder cap have both recently been replaced as well.

Various suspension parts have been replaced for modern comfort!

If you have been waiting on a Mustang that performs well, handles nice & looks unique “your search has ended”!

Air conditioning was an option on this Dearborn model (new belt & tensioner pulley coming).

Finally you will love the sound that comes through the dual exhaust when this pony is under acceleration! Two chamber flow performance mufflers with a 2.5 extended outlet generates a joyful noise that is loved by the masses!

But that’s not all……To top things off there is a excellent set of 17 inch Triple Chrome Torque Thrust style mag wheels (Bull Dog aggressive stance) tucked underneath that keeps people pointing no curb rash / excellent condition)!

Brand new Sumitomo wide range performance tires are wrapped around each wheel also!

At the end of the day what you have here is a wonderful investment grade pony car that can be enjoyed “priced reasonably” that turns more heads than the six figure muscle cars!

Last but not least……this vehicle is structurally sound and rock solid! The torque boxes, floors and frame rails make this one a smart buy!
