1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupewith 5speed,all original with only449 original verified miles plus original paperwork...
Hello everyone, this is a listing for a 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe which is the very last year for the Turbo Coupe. This isn't your average Thunderbird, this is a extremely well kept 100% survivor that is all original with only449 original miles and is ready to go into a classic car collection to make their low mile Ford collection complete.
The car was ordered in the best color combination, I believe, out there with Black exterior and Scarlet Red interior and boy it has a lot of options.
The title is a clean Pennsylvania title and show the true original miles on it as true original. It is NOT an exempt miles title.
Now before I get to into the description if anyone has any questions please feel free to call me directly at 717-675-4179. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have or if you would like to make a reasonable offer, I could change the buy it now price if we agree on another reasonable price.
I have owned many super low mile all original cars in the past and do lovesurvivors the best. They are only all original once and that is what makes them special.
This is a 2 owner car from new. I know the entire history on this car from day 1 till today. The car was special ordered through Ford factory and shipped to Friendship Ford-Mercury in Culpeper Virginia. The car was notsold but waskept by the dealership till this year. So it was a 1 owner car till this year.
The dealership kept the car always in a climate controlled facility and often started the car and drove the car about 15-20 miles per year to keep everything lubricated and keep the tires from getting flat spots.
Also I have about200 plus full page pictures of the car below in the listing please take your time to view them.
The car still has the untouched original window sticker still on the passenger side window. It was NEVER removed since the factory put it on. The car also comes with its original Build sheet and original owners manuals, folder. and original keys.
The car is 100% all original with the exception of the battery. I replaced the battery with a correct Motor craft to keep it correct Ford.
All5 tires, including the spare, are all original and in perfect condition with NO cracking or dry rot at all. Even the oil filter is still the original from the factory.
The car looks and smells NEW in every way. The paint is original and is excellent, factory paint defects and all. It shinesextremely brightand is very smooth to the touch. It was always garage kept and covered from day 1 till now. I buffed the car for the 1st time ever just before the pictures. The car was undercoated but really didn't need the undercoating because the car was never out in winter or even the rain since new and ONLY driven on very nice days the careful 449 miles since 1988.
The interior is 100% perfect with NO issues at all. It looks brand new and smells new also even though it is29 years old. NO cracks, fades, scratches or tears; just perfect. I took pictures of every angle in the interior to show how untouched and still new that it is. I took pictures of up underneath the dash and it is incredible the condition in perfect and looks brand new everywhere.
Every piece ofweather-strip is soft and pliable and looks new but it is from 1988.
The engine compartment is also super clean and has all the factory tags, paint stamps and chalk marks still present. The paint on all the engine and parts in the engine compartment still looks like it did in 1988. Just extremely well kept.
Theengine starts right up and idles very smooth withNO oil leaks. It drives down the road very smooth and runs out very nice and has a good amount of power with the turbo.
I checked all the plugs and they looked very good and put them back in.
I drove the car when I took the pictures and everything works as it should. All the lights, courtesy lights, horns, every gauge, warning lights, Key buzzer, etc. Everything works. This is the best you could in 1988 in aThunderbird being a2.3L Intercooled Turbo Charged enginepushing out 190HP and it has a 5 speed manual transmission and optional with a 3:55 Traction-Lock rear. The car also was ordered withpretty much EVERY single option you could order from the factory except Leather interior. Please look at the original window sticker.
The underside of the car and all the suspension is in excellent condition. A lot of suspension and some other parts had no paint on to protect them but still even though bare metal it still looks very clean underneath. There is a product out there that you can apply and it takes the surface rust off and leaves clean bare steel and also leaves the chalk marks and paint daps still intact. You can still see a lot of factory paint dabs and chalk marks present everywhere. The original exhaust and brackets still look very good. You can see this in the pictures below.
This is absolutely a time capsule car from 1988.
This is ready to go into someone's super low mile collection.
