1962 Ford Thunderbird convertible Additional Info:
1962 Ford Thunderbird convertible. I've owned this car for about three years. In that time, I have replaced the rear seat pans, replaced the carpet, had the interior fully upholstered from carpet to door panels and everything in between. The engine has been replaced with a new 390 block which has been bored out to 423 cu in. Everything on and in the engine is new and it includes the following (and I'm probably leaving something out): Rotating assembly (crank, rods, pistons) Comp Thumper cam, lifters, valves, springs, Harland Sharp rocker arm assembly Edelbrock aluminum heads, Edelbrock intake manifold Edelbrock carb. MSD high torque starter Tuff Stuff chrome alternator MSD ignition box and distributor Serpentine belt system Sanderson headers High flow fuel pump fuel pressure regulator The transmission has been rebuilt as well. The drivetrain has less than 100 miles on it. I can provide the names and phone numbers of the places that rebuilt the engine and transmission so you can verify not only that the work was done but also exactly what was done. It has a front disc brake conversion kit which came with a new power booster and master cylinder and new proportioning valve. The brakes still need a little attention as the pedal is not quite as high/hard as I would like it to be. It does stop though. Other items replaced are: Front and rear springs, Upper and lower ball joints, Inner and outer tie rod ends, Center link, and idler arm bushing. Tires have about 200 miles on them and the wheels are powder coated red with 1963 Thunderbird hubcaps - I didn't like the '62 Thunderbird hubcaps - too boring. The top does function properly as do the power windows. One of the top cylinders is leaking but I have a full set of brand new top cylinders, hoses and top pump that come with the car. I have a replacement black cloth top that comes with the car as well but have to dig it out of the pile of boxes from a recent move. There is some rust under the car on the driver's side right under the driver's door - not on the door but under it where the body meets the floor pan. I don't have a lift so I couldn't take a picture but will try to get it up on a jack and do so. I will text/email any additional pictures that you may be interested in. I am located in Rockledge Florida. If you have any questions please feel free to email me and I will do my best to answer them all. Thank you.
