1966 Ford Mustang #'s-Matching, Fully Documented, 2nd Owner Additional Info:
You're bidding on a fully documented, numbers-matching,1966 Mustang with 63,583 actual miles. I purchased the car from the original owner in 1983 with 50k miles. The car was recently repaintedwith its original spec color (Emberglo);itsparchment interior remains all-original.
The Ford dealership bill of sale reflects thatthe carcame with "Sprint 200 Package B." Options included console, accent stripe, wire wheel covers, Cruise-o-Matic, white vinyl roof, AM radio, deluxe seat belts, tinted glass. The motor also features the slightly-rare stainless steel air cleaner.
The car was purchased new for $2,917.01 on June 8, 1966, from Hawkinson Ford in Oak Lawn, Illinois.(The documents indicate that the owner traded in his 1957 Chrysler for $717.01). I have all the original receipts, bill of sale, photocopy of original title, owner's manual, Ford ID Owner Card, maintenance bills...and a thank-you note from the dealer.
The frame and chassis are in good shape. I'm sorry that I didn't get the car on a lift to take underneath photos. Prior to painting last spring, I had the front fenders (including shock towers) replaced, as well as the rear quarter panels, trunk floor, floor pans, and rear bumper. I had the exhaust system upgraded to stainless steel, and replaced a brake line. The only work performed on the engine was a valve job; the long block & its internal components remain untouched.
The car runs and drives. The title is clean. What makes this car an investment (in my opinion) isits thorough documentation, low mileage, and correct paint color & original interior. The only immediate repair needed on the car is a broken spring on the rear driver's side, which just happened over the weekend.
