1974 Ford F-250 Additional Info:
This is a 1974 Ford F-250 crew cab sitting on top of a 1992 Dodge D350 Chassis with a 12 Valve cummins. Transmission is a getrag 360 5speed. Dually rear end ratio is 3.55. Currently running non-dually wheels and single tires on the rear since I don't tow. I bought the dodge off an elderly gentleman a couple years ago. With 192k miles on it. He never towed or used it for heavy loads. All he used it for was a camper shell. He told me he never drove over 60mph on the freeway and changed oil every 6k. Everything was 100% bone stock when I got it. I had the cab swapped at 215k. I had the valves lashed, timing advanced and fuel turned up slightly. Truck gets 22-26 mpg every time I fill up. I don't drive aggressively and usually stay at 65mph or slower on the freeway. I put 35in tires on the rear to bring the rpms down but anything over 65mph feels like it needs a 6th gear.Some recent work done is new driveshaft and all joints replaced from the tranny to the differential. Differential inspection. 4" exhaust. 16cm exhaust turbo housing. Coolant flushed and replaced with John Deere guard II. Tranny drained and overfilled by 1quart.Killer Dowel Pin was fixed. New front brake rotors. Injection fuel pump solenoid fixed.I planned on building this truck and keeping it for life. But Plans have changed, I almost never need a truck anymore, so I have reluctantly decided to downsize to a car. The cab has no AC or heat. But the motor has it so it's up to you to get aftermarket units if you need to be comfortable. All the door handles need adjustment. Needs a horn switch. Speedo and fuel gauge are not hooked up. Been using a GPS for MPH and as a tripometer for fill ups. Lots of finishing touches to be done around the cab. The exterior had not really any dents untill I got it unfortunately. I would have been allot more careful if I thought I might sell it one day. The worst one is on the driver door which could be replaced if you want a looker. There's a few other small dings. The rust around the roof was repaired once but is coming back since I haven't got around to painting.So there is a list of To Do's, but they are all minor and won't prevent you from driving it on the road!
