Up for auction is one of the finest 1st Year Mustang GT’s that I have ever owned or driven! It is a real pleasure to drive and own. The car was restored by one of the top Mustang collectors and restorers in the country located right here in Augusta, GA…
The car was restored in 2006 & 2007… it does have a few paint chips that have been touched up with the original color Silver Blue Metallic paint. The car comes with a bit of that original factory color code Y Silver Blue Metallic paint as well. The car is very straight and the gaps fit real nice as well. The paint is slick as glass. The car is a drop-dead knockout as you can see for yourself in the many pictures. There are a lot of pictures below so please be patient as they might take a few minutes to download but then you can see what a high-quality car that it is.
As stated above this is a REAL and factory born original Mustang GT. The car has every single GT spotters sign, signal, and proof to the fact… and I mean all including steering box, reinforcement plates under rear seats, reinforcement inside rear frame holes in trunk, fog lights that when on also activate rear running lights, on and on and on. Name one… it’s there and correct and original. This is a no doubter real GT!
This 1st year Mustang GT is a factory 4-speed and a factory Pony interior car as well. The interior is gorgeous and as I said above already… it is fully functional including all gauges, lights and yes even the factory AM radio and the clock. The mileage on the speedometer (at this time is 73,007). I don’t know if the miles are original but they very well could be... The best that I can tell from my research it is a 3-owner car.
Under the hood is the original motor rebuilt and with the original 4-speed transmission also completely gone through and rebuilt by the best in town ATC Auto Center that’s been in business for almost 60 years! This little GT starts right up just like it did in 1965 and my guess is it runs and drives just as well also.
The underside is restored very nicely… just look at the pictures.
