If classic Mustangs in excellent ORIGINAL condition are what you seek, this one is one of the best preserved unrestored, original cars that is currently available on the market. This is the Mustang that started the World’s love affair with the Ford Pony Car. The 1964.5 Mustang.
What you are looking at is a car that has never been offered for sale publicly before. It has only been shown once and that was recently at the Fabulous Ford Forever car show at Knott’s Berry Farm this year. It is considered the largest Ford show on the West Coast and the car drew large crowds. It is a well preserved original car that has NOT restored in any way, but just amazingly well kept it’s entire life. The car features a mere 25,992 original DOCUMENTED miles. The beautiful Poppy Red paint is original. The gorgeous Black interior is original. The engine compartment has not been detailed or repainted in any way. The original rubber and weatherstripping is all there and pliable, like new. The original trunk mat, tools, trunk paint and even the spare are original to this car.
This is a museum / reference quality Poppy Red D-Code 289 4-barrel, 4spd Mustang with original Rally Pack in as near showroom floor condition as an original car can be that is 50+ years old – unrestored! All of the original documentation is included, including: Original Window Sticker. Original Sales Contract x 2. Ford Registered Owner Plan. Application For New Car Registration. Life Insurance Policy on the Loan. Original Insurance Paperwork. Original Bank Loan Paperwork. Original Payment Book (with all payments documented!) Original Bank Payoff Document / Congratulatory Letter and Preferred Customer Card. Original FIRST Title. Hand written letter of authenticity from Original Owner. All of this information and the cars condition is absolutely amazing to have as one complete package for a Mustang Collector, a Museum or an Investor.
Personally, I’d love to see a Collector or a Museum purchase the car to continue it’s lifelong history of care and preservation, but it is for sale to anyone willing to pay the right price. I have uploaded a LONG inspection video to YouTube. It is about 30 minutes long. If you are serious about purchasing this car, I recommend that you do take the time to watch this video. It will show you intricate details about the car that you or even a “professional” inspector may not take the time to view or appreciate.
30 Minute Video!

This car is a Museum / Reference Grade investment or collection opportunity that simply cannot be passed up.
I urge all interested parties to pursue this opportunity aggressively (AS I DID WHEN THIS CAR WAS FOUND) because this type of find is quite literally once in a lifetime!
Please keep in mind that this is nearly a 55 year old car. It is not NEW. It is not RESTORED in any way! It’s amazingly well kept and everything works on it.
The car was shown 1 time ever and the 1964.5 Mustang fans were blown away. Many people wanted to take photos of certain aspects of the car to use as reference for their own restorations. Many people have stated that they’ve never seen such a well preserved example.
From almost any perspective you look at it, this car is literally irreplaceable and without equal. Sure, it’s not a Shelby, but when purchased, this was as close to a K-Code Mustang as what could be purchased in july of 1964 without waiting for a K-Code to become available. That was the original owners intent and he lovingly kept this car covered in a climate controlled garage in both Southern California and Northern Texas until parting with his good friend.
I can’t emphasize enough how truly special this car is due to it’s original showroom like condition and unequalled original documentation. This is the first time it is being offered to the public.
Please view the photos of this beautiful Mustang and if you have any questions, please contact me.
What you see below on the car is the remains of the original tie down removal sticker that the factory put on the car when new. This type of detail can only be found on genuinely original cars that have not been repainted.
Professionally maintained since coming into my possession. Lovingly maintained prior to that.
Excellent original chrome and trim. Excellent original window felts and weatherstripping throughout. Amazing preservation.
Both original Russ Davis Ford License Plate Frames are included with the car.
Nearly flawless original interior. Shown as originally optioned per the window sticker: Console, 4spd, with Rally Pack. This interior has never been restored, nothing ever replaced or changed. A partial sticker of some kind remains in the door frame below the courtesy light switch.
Original door data tag still in place. No cracks or damage traditionally seen around the latch screw heads. Both doors open and close flawlessly. Watch the demonstration in the video.
Two original 'PAINT OK' paint stamps found on the car - from the factory.
Only 25,992 original miles worth of wear on the pedal pads.
Original spare tire and tools. Original trunk mat. Immaculate original trunk. Taillight pigtails have 'FoMoCo' tags on them.
