1970 Ford Mustang BOSS Additional Info:
BOSS 302 Mustang for sale. Numbers matching engine and transmission. I'm listing this for a family friend who is older and doesn't know how to use the internet. The car hasn't been driven much in the last 25 years. The restoration was completed in 1992 by Mustang Restorations Inc. in East Dundee, IL. There is a picture of the Marti report included. There is absolutely no rust on the car anywhere. We do not know what the condition was before restoration. He started thinking about selling the car and realized it wasn't running right. He took it to a shop and ended up spending $12,000 having the engine redone. The cylinders were bad so being the numbers matching engine, he had it sleeved. The work was done in 2015 and he hasn't driven it since.. When he started the engine while I was there it let out some blue smoke. I don't think the ringsever had a chance to seat. He also said the brakes don't feel right. Like I said, it's been sitting for a long time and will need some love. While I was vacuuming, I noticed some coolant on the passenger side floor so I believe it needs a heater core. I noticed 2 dings on the driver side front fender. There are some nicks and scratches as well. The interior is pretty good except for one hole in the drivers seat. The wheels are in need of rechroming. One center cap is missing, but this auction includes a new set. The emblem missing in the steering wheel is also included.
I have some videos on youtube, but apparently ebay doesn't like website links in listings. I can email them to you if you're interested.
Overall the car is in very good shape, but needs a little TLC. If he doesn't get what he needs to get for it, we'll start fixing all of the little things is needs. It's a good solid foundation for an excellent example of a very rare car. From what I read 6,318 BOSS Mustangs were made in 1970 and 1,454 were yellow. It also has the shaker hood and close ratio transmission. The tires are good.
Reasonable offers will be considered. Cash in person or cashier's check will be accepted. If cashier's check, it will take 2-3 weeks to clear before the car and title will be released. We may be able to arrange a wire transfer too.
