1966 Ford Galaxie Black Additional Info:
1966 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible original survivor original paint, interior and top with 36428 original miles. I'm listing this car for a friend, but I have personally known the car since 1991. The second owner used the car on occasions during the summer and fall. He would have his mechanic service the car and get it running every spring, put the top down and take the grandchildren out for ice cream and show the car at the Heritage festival in the fall. It has always been in Moorefield WV it's entire life. Due to the owners failing health it has sat in the garage where I took pictures today for the last 10 years or so. You could call it a garage find, but I have known about it for years.
The car vin breaks down as follows: 1966 built at the Mahwah NJ plant, 2 dr convertible 390 2 barrel. Body 76A 2 dr. Galaxie convertible, paint A Raven Black, Trim 66 Black, Build date March 30, Rear axle 3.00:1, Transmission Cruise-O-Matic MX.
I looked this car over good today and could find no evidence of paint work or repair, crash damage or rust. There is a dent in the trim on the hood and the grill as shown in the pictures. There is some surface rust on the chassis and A arms, but the undercoating on the floors is not even dirty. The engine oil is clean, the brakes are up, but we made no effort to get the car running. It should be serviced before an attempt to get it running.
You would be hard pressed to find a better or more original 66 Ford convertible. The car sounded and drove like a new car the last time it ran.
