Selling my 1930 Ford Model A Coupe. Original steel body and frame. Title says 1930 Ford. The top has been chopped, and the frame has been boxed and modified to accommodate newer suspension. The body, while having evidence of bondo in places, is pretty solid with no rust bubbles. You can see spots where it has been sanded, those were all done by the previous owner. The paint is ok, but there’s about a decade worth of dust that needs to be washed off. It has a frenched antenna along with frenched tail lights. The fenders are steel, not fiberglass and are pretty straight with no major dings, dents, or rust. The front grill is original, but it has been stretched to fit a wider radiator. It comes with a hood that somebody fabricated, and looks O.K from 5 feet, but up close you can tell it would need some more work to match up better. As you can see, the car has a sunroof in it. It functioned a few years ago but I have not tried to open it recently. It doesn’t leak, and with most old sun roofs, they will always open and always get problems when it’s time to close. My plan was to get rid of it. The door handles are shaved on the outside, and there are no door poppers. There is a hidden window switch on the frame (yes, this car has power windows) to roll the drivers side window down so that you can grab the inside door handle to open it. There is also a switch on the passenger side frame for the passenger window.

Speaking of windows, the drivers glass is broken. It’s still in the door, but I’ve included a picture of the glass showing that it’s cracked pretty bad. The windshield is also broken, and I had it removed to make a template for a replacement but never did. It is included and shouldn’t be hard to use to copy and make a new one.

For the interior, the seats and shifter are from a Monte carlo, and the center console and dash are custom made from wood. I’ve got all the wood surrounds for the windows, but as you can see in the pics, I’m missing one wood trim piece for one of the doors. I don’t know what the steering column is out of, but it tilts pretty good so you can swing it up making it easier to get in and out.

The engine is a ford 302 with a holley 4bbl carb. It runs but the carb needs rebuilt. It will fire up but the carb is leaking a little and it seems like the floats are stuck because as long as the fuel pump is running the carb drips gas into the intake. It had been sitting for at least 10 years without being started but a little fresh gas and it fired right up without any smoking or knocking.

It has an automatic trans (I think c6 but not sure, I’m not a ford guy) putting power out through a Ford 9” rear axle. The front suspension is mustang II and it even has power steering.

It’s a pretty solid car that could be put back on the road as is with a little work. With that being said, this is a project car, so please don’t think you can come pour some fresh gas in and drive home. The car was built in the late 80’s/early 90’s by an elderly man that only drove it a few times while trying to finish it before he passed away. It then sat in his garage for years until his widow finally decided to sell it I’ve had it a little while and just haven’t done much with it and have too many other projects.

Here’s a list of the bare minimum it would need to be able to start driving it as is.

-Carb rebuild
-install new fuel pump (included)
-new trans pan gasket (trans currently leaking)
-rear brakes need rebuilt. One of the drums had seized, so I took it apart and it is currently not on the car. Front brakes work good enough for moving around the garage/yard
-new coil springs up front. Previous owner obviously heated them with a torch to lower the front and they’re not even.

I started to build another frame for it using the front suspension from a Porsche 911. I will include the frame rails and Porsche front end for an additional $500, as that’s what the suspension is worth. I have included pictures of the front end of the frame with the Porsche front end bolted to it.
