1941 Ford Other Pickups Additional Info:
This 1941 Ford Truck with Well Rig is from my Father who bought it years ago for the well rig from an older farmer in southern California. He planned on restoring it, but recently passed away, and now it's time to sell. He mounted a hitch to the front, and towed it around the farm and pulled at least one well with it. He then used it to fly the USA flag from it on holidays, and hung Christmas lights from it every year. I would love to keep it, but it needs to go to a home where it will be restored and appreciated.
We have the "pink slip" in hand. It is California registered, with original registration signed off and ready to transfer. To our knowledge, no back fees are due. It is in surprisingly good shape for it's age, with some rust for a truck this age, although it has been here in the high desert, so probably less rust than in a moist climate. I would take the well rig off the back and resell it, and just buy a new seat for the interior, and put a new back end on it.
The truck appears to be pretty much stock on the front. The pictures can tell the story. While the left window is cracked, the windshield and back window are intact. The
If you're reading this, you probably know the '41 Ford trucks are pretty much the same as '39/'40 Ford sedans and coupes and make one of the best looking hot rod trucks.
The back of the well rig can be laid on the ground, unhooked from the bottom, and the truck has a rack to lay the "mast" on the top. The back appears to be on top of a 12 foot flatbed. The gear box appears to be well oiled by my Father, and has a PTO attached, along with a tow bar, so he could move it around the farm.
Please note the license plates are not on this truck. Please disregard them in the pictures.
We really want this to go to someone who will appreciate it. My Father took great pride in his tools and equipment, and really loved this truck.
Buyer is responsible for arranging pickup and transportation. It is sold where is/as is condition.
On May-08-17 at 12:32:50 PDT, seller added the following information:
To clarify, my Father purchased this truck from an alfalfa farmer in the 80s. We have the pink slip with the original VIN / registration number as it appeared at the time of licensing. The cab, frame and original wood on the back of the pickup appear to be original, as well as everything to do with the well rig was never changed by my Father, nor the family. Dad used it to pull wells, and only mounted the PTO so he could both tow it around the property, and work the well rig. The gear box is well oiled, and appears in good shape, and certainly turns when I manually turn it.
My Father's goal was to restore this, not tear it apart, and he never took anything off of it, except the flathead v8 engine which was damaged due to the hood being left up in the rain too long. To my knowledge nothing was ever changed.
So we are clear, we cannot locate the VIN number on the frame for where I believe it to be is illegible, due to 75 years of wear on it. We cannot locate the VIN plate.
We have been told by AAA it will not be a problem to transfer.
I hope this helps you. Should you have any other questions, please call me at 760 963 3124 or email, and I'm happy to help you.
