This vehicle features:
Original 312 Y block - professionally rebuilt, Original Colonial White exterior with 2 tone Red/White interior, Matching porthole hardtop – (soft top frame & hardware available)
Town and Country Radio, Power Disc Brakes, Fender skirts, New wire wheels and wide white wall radialtires, Rebuilt Original Automatic transmission, Four barrel carburetor
New fuel tank, new radiator, new steering gear box, new wiring harnesses throughout, New/restored chromed plating trim.
I bought the vehicle in July 2013 from the original owner with the intent to restore it to drivable condition. The vehicle was purchased in Southern California in July 1957 and moved to Scottsdale AZ. The vehicle was driven until 1973 when it was put in a garage, covered with a car cover and then a tarp until July 2013 when I purchased it.
When I started the restoration I found a number of issues I had NOT been prepared for and found that a FULL restoration would be required. From July 2013 until late 2014 I totally stripped the vehicle. In January 2015 I sent the vehicle to a shop where it was soda blasted - EVERY inch of the vehicle. Any rust, bad metal and cancer was repaired. The repaired metal was then sealed.
The vehicle was then sent to the paint shop where it was primed and repainted with the original colonial White exterior with 2 tone Red/White interior - Matching porthole hardtop. The original owner had painted the vehicle an off beet red, (not a good paint job). Every gasket, seal, pressure line, belt, hose, spring has been replaced. The original 312 has been completed rebuilt, the original Automatic transmission has been completed rebuilt, the 3rd member has also been rebuilt. a new fuel tank; radiator, steering gear box, wiring harnesses throughout and new / repaired - chromed plating trim. New wire wheels and wide white wall radials tires.
This car is a terrific example of the T-Bird experience. A must see!
I’m pushing 72 years old and in late 2014 I suffered a major heart attack. My health continues to deteriorate to the point that I have been placed on home Hospice care. I simply do not want to leave this a “to do” item for my wife and would like to find a new home for this work of art with someone who can and will appreciation a beautiful automobile. Restoration documentation available. Well over $ 80,000.00 invested.
