1966 Ford Ford GT Additional Info:

For Sale is a 1966 Ford Cortina 2 door GT with a Lotus look. Very rare car. In fact, in England and Northern Ireland there were 48 GTs licenced in 1994 as compared to 69 Lotus Cortinas. In 2015, there were only 59 GTs as compared to 164 Lotus Cortinas. Car is fitted with a roll cage, Cobra Racing seats and has about 83100 miles on the clock- believed to be genuine. This car originally had some rust at the rockers and rear valance as it was used to race at Coquitlam High Mountain race track in British Columbia, Canada in its heyday and the unwashed left over mud rusted some lower panels. However, the car has now been completely stripped of the rusted areas and replaced with new panels from England and the whole underside anti-rusted. A fabulous new Alan Mann paint job gives the car an amazing and racy look. The body lines are all smooth and straight and the car is very attractive with much sought after RS Racing wheels. The engine is a modified 2.0 Pinto high performance motor with a mated 4 speed transmissionbelieve to produce about 165 hp. The rear boot springs have been replaced with hydraulic struts. The car has been lowered to get that sporty look. The car drives and handles well. More than $15,000 on repairs/upgrades has been spent on the car with bills to show. Included are new panels, almost all new rubber/seals, battery, handbrake cables, weatherproofing, lights, hydraulics for the boot, spark plugs, HT coils, all new fluids, new electronic ignition and fuel pump. Tires and brakes are about 65-70%. A modern stereo with CD is included. All the gauges work, including all lights ( except the small front lights), wiper, heater, etc. Car has been kept in a heated garage since it has been restored. It has been in Classic car shows in British Columbia, Canada and won admirable comments. Car has been driven only in summer and for several years has not been exposed to rain or snow. Car is located in Mission, British Columbia, Canada. Buyer is responsible for shipping, handling, duties and taxes. I will throw in, with the car, the following spares: 1971 Pinto 4 speed manual transmission, part of a Pinto manual transmission, a set of rear lenses and bezels, a brand new handbrake cable, pair of brand new headlight rubber seals, pair of brand new front signal light seals(foam), a pair of original chromed wing mirrors, the original steering wheel with the "CORTINA" emblem as the horn button, pair of brand new door rubber, a 1976 FORD radio ( not tested) an Autolite 4 barrel carburetor ( rebuilt) which will fit the car, rear boot catch, jack, spare RS wheel and tire, a PINTO repair manual and a few miscellaneous stuff valued at over $1500/- These can be loaded in the trunk without any additional shipping costs and will be included with the winning bid.The car has registration papers.
