1950 Ford Crestliner Coronation Red/Black with vinyl top covering Additional Info:
This car is restored to it's original Coronation Red/Black factory produced configuration. It was built in St. Paul, USA. At some point it arrived in Branson,Mo. where I purchased it in 2002. The body was not restorable, but the rest of the components were intact. I sourced a barn find 1950 Ford deluxe two door car with a rust-free body except for the spare tire well. The tire well was replaced. A complete disassembly was done so that all components could be removed, cleaned with rust inhibitor materialsprayed on external and internal surfaces. The data plate was removed and the factory stamped production code was hammered flat and filled. Next, theCrestliner doors, hood, deck lid, dash and interior partswere removed along with the data plate and factory stampedproduction code section of the cowl.A lengthy process of removing all the frame parts for cleaning and de-rusting for paint and re-assembly began. With all soft pads, cushions, bushings brakes, springs along with steering components replaced, it was ready for the body. Undercoating was applied and lowered down to the completed frame. The Crestliner production code numbers were stamped into the cowl and the data plate was attached to complete the identification. The salvaged production code section of the original body are to be furnished to thesuccessful bidder. Glass, glass channels, locks and interior trim were completed. In addition, this owner remembers the problems associated with the flathead Fords, such as overheating, vapor locking and cracked blocks. Since the car was to be a driver, he added a more modern accessories to the completed project. It has been completely re-wired, updated to 12 Volt power, had a MABBCO 302 cubic inch remanufactured engine installed with an AOD transmission and a 70s Mustang floor shifter. AGM rack and pinion steering system was installed and coupled to the original steering column. 12 Volt power allowed for a modern Ford AM/FM, CD and cassettesystem with surround sound. Electric wipers and a 60s Ford under dash Air conditioning system with eco-friendly refrigerant isis installed.for modern comfort.. The engine has had the break-in oil changed along with filter{s} The 302 engine size required a remote oil filter rack underneath the frame. I would estimate the engine to have 300 miles on it.
