Two-tone Pastel Sandalwood over Sandalwood Metallic

Cream Interior

Found this beauty deep in Southeastern Arizona.

The story I was told was that it was purchased new by an old timer in New Mexico to use for his monthly fishing trip to the cabin. It was garage kept until 2012 when it was bought by an elderly woman in Tucson to use for a similar purpose. When the clutch became a little too much for her knees, she parked it…and I found it.

I put in a quart of oil, a fresh tank of premium fuel, and a can of Seafoam and drove it home 3 hours in the dark.

It ran terrific. 75mph all the way home with the air conditioning on (it’s already 90 degrees in Phoenix) and not a problem.

Some things that will need attention, if you choose, are:

The stereo volume is a little fussy.

There’s a bit of sun fade. It’s mostly on the driver’s side. The paint is still plenty glossy though.

All 4 tires match and are Goodyear VIVA 2. Though they’re just about full tread, they’re also 6 years old.

Everything else works!

There are plenty of base four-cylinder 2WD Ranger’s out there but this one is quite a find.

It checks just about all the boxes:

XLT Trim package- Check

V6- Check

4X4- Check

Mountain States Edition- Check

The rare “Mountain States Edition” was a regional package that included under chassis skid plates (fuel tank, transmission, transfer case). 4WD. AC. Premium wheels. Rear antilock brakes and a 1" inch higher ride height.

And then there’s this:

New Mexico / Arizona Truck- Check

33,000 Original Miles- Check, Check Check

The interior looks just about new and it runs like a champion.

I had big plans for this (our new cabin cruiser) but, because of the rarity, I thought that someone might like it a little more than I do.

That’s why it’s offered here.

If you know these, and you probably do if you’re reading this, you know that 1989 was a major restyling year which included flush composite headlights, new fenders, a new hood, a new grille and frame upgrades.

There was also an updated dashboard and steering column.

It's got a perfect Autocheck with no accidents and no funny business.

And it's topped by a "Westerner".

All in all, it's just about as good as it gets for a Ranger.
