1927 Ford Roadster Lakester Model T Street Rod Rat Rod
So I bought this roadster a few weeks ago with the intention of finishing it and driving it through at least the summer here in Durango. The car is everything that was described by the previous owner, and the work that has been done is awesome. There is only one problem...I don't fit in it. I am a little over 6 feet tall, so my legs are just a little too long to work the pedals comfortably andsafely. If you are 5' 10" or less, you will fit in this car just fine. I have considered extending the tub to make it work for me, but rather than start chopping it up, I'm going to give someone a chance to buy it with just a few things left to make it road worthy. If it doesn't sell for what I need for it, I will modify it to make sure that I fit. All of that said, here is a fairly generic description of this very cool roadster...
Body
Very nice all steel body with the exception of the hood top, which is fiberglass. The body is in excellent condition, but needs paint. The doors operate great and the hood sides have a cool latch system. The car was built with the intention of painting it orange, but there are several colors that will work with the orange frame and dash.
Frame
Pinched and Z'd custom frame. The work that has been done is really nice. Aluminum 4 bar suspension, lots of stainless hardware and chrome, and lightening holes throughout the frame. I has a banjo rear end and open drive shaft kit. It still needs the steering sorted out. The steering column is installed, but it needs either a Vega box or small rack to connect the steering. Other than that, it's ready to go.
Engine/Trans
The engine/trans combo is a 305/TH350 out of a Monte Carlo. I was told by the previous owner that it runs great. The engine comes with all of the Edelbrock accessories including intake, carburetor, valve covers, and air cleaner. The engine has ceramic coated headers and a cool exhaust system. Thedistributor, coil, dipsticks, etc are all in place. All of the fuel system is in place with the stainless tank and all linesrun to the pump and carb.
Interior/Wiring/Brakes/Etc.
The interior is basically done. New bomber seats, new carpet, gauges, sill plates and automatic shifter are in the interior. All of wiring for the car is complete and all of the gauges, lights and electrical work. The car cranks fine, but needs a few things to start it. There is a new Wilwood master cylinder, brake switch and pedal assembly in place.
Wheels/Tires
The wheels are expensive 3 piece Weld wheels with decent tires.
What it needs to be road worthy...
This car will be up and running with a small amount of parts and a few hours of labor. I have already purchased quite a few of the needed parts, so you will have a head start.
1. The brake lines need to be run from the master cylinder to the front and rear brakes.
2. Either a Vega steering box or half rack will need to be installed to connect the steering. There are several options available.
3. I just purchased a new radiator, so it will need to be installed along with hoses. The new radiator has a trans cooler, so the lines will need to be run to the cooler.
4. The throttle cable and trans kick-down will need to be connected to the fuel pedal.
5. The wiring and the fuel system is complete, so no additional work will be needed there.
So, that's pretty much it. Once again, if it doesn't sell, I will extend it and finish the minor things needed to get it running. It is a really sweet little car. You couldn't even come close to building this car for what I need to get out of it. I have the1927 title and vin plate for the car.
This car is being sold as-is. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. It is listed on several other sites, as well as locally. Please ask questions. There will be no post-sale negotiations. As you will see from my feedback, I have a great reputation buying and selling cars. I have a lot of contacts for shipping, so I will be glad to help, if you need it. I require a non-refundable $500 deposit within 48 hours of the end of the auction and the balance within 7 days.
