Item up for bid is my 1969 Ford Mustang Mach I R Code 428-4V, 4 speed car, with the Drag Pack Option!
I bought it as a tired and forgotten about old race car. The driveline was not in the car when purchased.
I decided to do more of a “Day Two” Driver/Race quality restoration on the car. Any body panel that was cut or rusted was replaced with quality sheet metal, OE Ford in most cases. Car was painted Winter Blue about 5 years ago and is of Drivers quality. My intentions with the car were to drive it to local cruise nights and to occasionally race the car at the local Drag Strip.
The 428 Super Cobra Jet Engine is an NOS Ford 428 Replacement Block – Standard Bore. IUA Crank, LeMans Rods, Big Harmonic Balancer, “Cookie Cutter” Spacer and C9 flywheel are all correct OE SCJ parts. Heads are correct Cobra Jet heads and the Headers are Hooker 6114’s. Engine is equipped with Speed Pro pistons, A Comp Solid Cam with Roller Lifters, 427 pushrods and adjustable rockers. A period correct Edlebrock F427 intake was used as well as a Canton Oil pan, Mallory ignition and Holley Carb. All was professionally balanced, toleranced and put together by a local speed shop.
The Correct Oil Cooler and AE2 Close ratio transmission is there along with the Correct C4 “N” Case with 4:30 gears and an upgraded Detroit “no spin” Locker Differential. The axles are 31 spline Strange Axles. The Shaker hood and scoop/trim ring/base etc are all factory pieces.
The deluxe black interior is mostly original, with the headliner, dash pad and carpet as being replaced with new. Tach dash is in place and working. I added the fold down.
This is a nearly complete 4.30 Equipped R code 69 Mach I Mustang! Car is about 95% complete, but still needs work to become streetable. The power steering system still needs work, no exhaust, no speedo cable, no fan, brakes are put together but need bled. The car has been driven in my driveway but has never been on the road. Please look over all pictures and ask any questions you have before bidding.
The car has a clear Pennsylvania Title, showing 100K miles, in its actual non exempt status. Both shock towers have there vin numbers as well as the correct vin in the dash. Door tag and Buck tag are in place as well. I have included a Marti Report for it in the pictures.
Hope you get the idea where this car is at. Without a doubt this is a car that can be driven and enjoyed this summer.
This car is sold as is where is. Please ask questions before you make an offer to purchase.
