1951 Ford F5/F1 Flathead V8
Here is a great ol' truck we are offering for sale at NO RESERVE! So it will go to the highest bidder - regardless of price.
This is a 1951 Ford F5 with the 239 flat head V8. The mileage of 29000 is supposedto be correct. The title from '90 says 28K. actual.
This was a local farm truck here in Kansas, and was in the same family since new. Son in law purchased it in 1990 - hence the date on the title. The title is clear and open.
This truck had sat for quite a few years without being ran. When it was parked, it was parked with the bed partially up, to allow moisture to run out. I did get the truck running, just dripping gas in the carb, long enough to get the bed down. It actually sounds very good, but it is going to need a fuel pump and either a good tank cleaning, or an auxiliary tank. Other than that, it seems o.k.
The lift set-up on this truck is pretty unique. It has a PTO driven winch, and cables and pulleys that raise and lower the bed. Not a shop built hoist - its well engineered and professional, especially for the period. I did get a pic of this before I lowered the bed.
As for the body - I think the pictures tell the story. It is overall very straight, but does have a dent in right fender. Floors are great. Grill is perfect, 2 or 3 rust spots starting in a couple of places (see pics) but no major rust issues at all. The seat, as with 90% of old farm trucks, will need reupholstered. Overall, just a great project truck that won't require a whole lot to get it going again.
This truck will haul on an 18ft trailer, and it can sit here a while, as long as paid for. I will load you for free. This truck rolls fine, right steer tire does lose air, but stays up plenty long enough to load/unload. Please check my feedback from other old trucks I've sold, and definitely ask any questions you have prior to bidding. Call or text Cort - 620-786-5172 Thank you and good luck.
