Model A Roadster pickup, Jalpoy Racer, Speedster

1929 Ford Model A Additional Info:

This is a 1929 Model A done in the style of a jalopy racer from the 40's. I have owned it for three years buying it from an estate sale in Oregon. The previous owner had reworked the complete brake system new shoes, hardware and drums turned it stops great. He also installed a 4" dropped front axle and "Z"ed the rear frame 4 inches.. The front wishbone was split and aircraft tie rods installed. He installed new pistons and rings and ground the valves. What I bought was a running driving chassis with the cowl installed.
Since I have owned it I dropped the pan to repair a leaking pan gasket the pan was spotless and I also checked the valve lash. I installed a new timing gear and plunger. I put in a Model B distributer so no need to advance timing manually. There is a 6 volt electric fuel pump on the frame and a power diode to replace the regulator on the generator. A motor meter sits on the radiator. No leaks in the cooling system. I installed an electric kill switch and a fuel shut off valve also.
As for body modifications I used Model T fenders, the front turn with the wheels. There are reshaped T running boards and a T fuel tank behind the seat ( model a tank is bad). The windshield has been chopped. I have a top half hood for it.. There is a lake pipe and manual cut out cable on the dash with aluminized tailpipe. Lights and horn work but no turn signals. There is a two way hinged lid on the bed that can be removed. The tail gate is Model A. Suicide doors and bucket seats. Later model Ford rims with new 15 inch tires.
Please ask any questions I can answer about anything as I have built the car and driven it in the local parades. There are dents in the cowl and fenders the car was built as one would cobble a jalopy racer together out of what was available. The car is reliable no over heating, goes 45 mph and is a lot of fun.. That said the car is over 80 yrs old and anything can happen there is no warranty, I would like the new owner to be mechanically inclined to be able to adjust brakes, clutch and set points. None of which needs to be now. Remember this is not designed to travel freeways but for our small town it works. I can store car for 30 days with no charges and will be available for you or your transporter to pick up vehicle, car does not leave until paid for.

Additional info: 205/75/15 front tires and 225/75/15 rears. Front shocks are 1989 Corvettes. There are no rear shocks. The steering box is a rebuilt five tooth model which they say is better than the seven tooth unit. The car drives straight with no shimmy, wander or slack.
The four fenders are from a 1926 T, they are all rear fenders 2 right and 2 left. I cut them down and shaped them to fit 15" tires rather than the 19"s. The doors are made from one inch hd square tubing and the skins are 16 gauge sheet steel. Each door weighs upwards of 60 lbs. It keeps the grandkids in along with the seat belts. The doors can be removed for the roadster look with one bolt.
Windshield is tinted.
When building the car I welded a full 3/16 plate between the cross members in two places for added weight for a better ride and for additional strength.
