1969 Ford Torino GT Additional Info:
Up for auction is a 1969 Ford Torino GT fastback. It has the 302 V8 which runs great. The engine is a little cold blooded in this cold Maine weather we have up here and takes about two full minutes of feathering the pedal to keep it running until it warms up enough during the winter. There is a nice aftermarket aluminum radiator. It has a aftermarket B&M C-4 transmission with a shift kit. The car starts and runs great. It is a daily driver but does need some work on the steering, it is a little loose even for an old car. The column shifter needs some work also as it only starts in neutral. Not sure if it is the linkage or a neutral safety switch. The exhaust is just collectors and some glass pack mufflers. It has four like new tires on the original rims. This car has been up on a lift recently and has no rust underneath. The frame rails, floors, rockers and trunk are all really nice. The body has been repainted years ago but still is a good driver quality paint job. It does have many spots that need attention. It appears the roof had some dings on it and they were filled in with body filler before being painted. Those spots are starting to come through the paint. The car will need a full repaint. There are spots all around on the body that will need attention. The interior is in need of a full restoration. The headliner is missing from the car. The front seat is torn and the carpets are worn. This car is in need of a full restoration but can still be driven around as is. I am not trying to describe this as anything it is not. Nice start for a full restoration or drive as is. These are getting harder and harder to find. I feel with a few minor things repaired such as the shifter linkage, steering and some new exhaust this will be a daily driver that will last years as is.
A $500.00 deposit is required within 24 hours of the auction ending. The full payment is required within 3 days of the end of the auction. The buyer is fully responsible for setting up shipping and all costs associated with it. The car does run and drive and in doing so will help lower the shipping costs. It is being sold as is where is with no warranties expressed or implied. There are no titles for vehicles this old in Maine but it is currently registered and will come with a Maine registration and a bill of sale only.
Please ask any questions you may have before bidding. This is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction and cancel any bids at any time.
This car is a daily driver but I would not recommend driving it across the country until the steering is looked at but that is at your discretion.
