1966 Ford Ranchero Custom Additional Info:
1966 with the 1966 Fairlane GT Front End - stacked dual headlights. Very nice.
Auto, with unkown mileage, titled around 90k...
Registered and insured. Inspection just lapsed in Sept 2016 (I put away in the fall this year, was going to get inspected in the spring).
originally came with 289, was replaced with 302 in early 80's. 4 bbl carb, recently tuned.
Magnaflow dual exhaust, sounds like a million bucks.
Completely rebuilt suspension, and drive box. Handles better than new.
New tires, about 1000 miles on them.
This year my mechanic pulled the tranny, pulled it apart, resealed and put a tranny service kit. New rear main seal when it was out.
Put in a Hurst quarter stick shifter.
Has a nice tonneau cover.
Returned all drum brakes.
Converted to electric ignition, flamethrower igniter.
Installed dual controlled air shocks last year.
Body is in nice condition, some issues here and there. Has some rust underneath, nothing in structural areas. Could be redone with a welder and some sheet metal.
Leave paint as-is and enjoy this muscle car, or repaint if desired... looks great from 20 feet. Up close it needs attention.
New radio with bluetooth and voice controls.
2 years ago put new performance starter, 1 wire alternator and new battery.
Resealed passenger manifold gasket.
Needs: drive side manifold gasket. Leaks here and there. I hardly drove it this year, maybe 250 total miles. Some gaskets may need to be looked at (however the rear main and tranny gaskets are brand spanking new!!!). The back driver tire has a leak (needs air every couple weeks), however the tire is brand new. May be a faulty air valve? If I were to keep this, I would likely change from drum to disc brakes, but the drums are all turned, and working as good as they are supposed too... Again, needs attention to cosmetics (interior, etc) and odds and ends. A great, relatively fast loud, mean and fun car!
Bought 2.5 years ago for $4000+ $400 transport fee (it wasn't running) + $4000 investment. I am into this car for nearly $8500 just in the last 2 years. I have made this car safe and fun to drive. Needs TLC here and there. Get thumbs up and tons of smiles everywhere I go. Wouldn't take much to make this a show car. Honestly, I lost interest and time to spend with this.
