This is the absolute cleanest FORD Escort you'll find.If you've been looking for a car like this you know just what it is.

Very rare model in those day, air conditioned Escort with automatic transmission !

Has been stored in a heated facility!I have owned this Escort for about 2 or so years and I was going to get it up to showroom condition and use as my "old man car ",but its time to part with it because I have to many "projects".

The car accelerates and brakes smoothly and doesn't noticeably pull to either side. The power brakes work as well as the power steering.

At 27100 miles all these things are still original and the steering and suspension both feel good and stable. On the inside the heater is very ho, AC is NOT converte, radio, all factory gauges work great.

The upholstery and carpet is in excellent condition like new in the back . There are flaws here and there, but overall it is super clean inside, especially for the all original, un-restored condition. (Note: the seats/upholstery have not been shampooed or cleaned. Just vacuumed ).The headliner is perfect as well. The data center above the rear view mirror works well and keeps track of time, date, and elapsed time. The windshield is in excellent condition. Coin organizers on the shift console and in the glove box. Automatic belts work well.

On the outside the original midnight blue paint is in good condition for being all original. There are numerous small scratches and dings around the body that have been touched up over the years (see closeup of hood). The original paint cleans up to a mirror finish, albeit being sprayed very thin by Ford ..!

The tires are original and need to be replaced. Spare is original and all tools are there .

Car looks brand new from 10 feet away. Door seals, door jambs, and everything are clean. .As such, there are no rust issues whatsoever and the original exhaust muffler end was replaced is still intact and in great condition. PLEASE look at pictures carefully and ask for more if you feel uncertain !

The good:

SUPER clean. Motor and transmission work perfect. Oil changed every 12 month while stored, with only 100 miles driven!

New rear bumpe, old one was cracked at bolton pad and not repairable.

New battery

New plugs and air filter

New alternator and belt

Starts, runs, and drives perfectly.

Steers and brakes perfectly.

Interior is super clean and nice.

Everything inside the car works. (dome lights, dash lights, gauges, AC, manual mirrors and windows, etc.)

Should be a good fuel efficient cruiser for the next owner for quite some time. Should average 35 mpg around town with modest driving.

The bad:

The are touchup paint stick covered scratches on the hood and on driver side bottom of fende, two major small dents rear hatch and left body side.

Front bumper has at driver side corner small broken spot.

Transmission bottom is wet and seems to drip a couple drops overnight but not regularly oil level does not drop !

Rear trunk inside cover has torn lifting plugs to move the cover up with hatch back gate ( might still find 2 plastic plugs)

Driver door arm rest has been pulled off and will need some work to reattac, see picture .

AC needs to be converted to new freon !

That's about all I've got. It's a fantastic daily driver in great condition overall. Drives superbly for it's age and is highly economical and very solid ( heavy ). Cruises 75-80 on the highway no problem. If you've been looking for an escort, don't miss out on this one. I looked for a while and picked this one because it was SO clean. It was the last year they were made in this body style and motor so it is as new as you can get.This is the toughest build FORD automobile.

I sell it only because the car actually needs a new hom, be driven and taken care of, rather than hogging it and let it rust .
