1979 Ford F-350 Custom Additional Info:
Up for auction is a rare 1979 F350 Supercab 4wd. This is the first year of the F350 with the 4wd option as well as it being a supercab making it one of only approximately 1700 built that year. This truck is relatively stock which would make it a perfect candidate for restoration or just a good solid daily driver. this truck does have very normal wear and tear for an almost 40 year old truck, it has scratches and small spots of surface rust that can be seen but a very respectable and fine example of an old used truck. Mechanically, the truck is sound. Has the 400 which has had some work done to it, it does have an edelbrock intake as well as an edelbrock carb and what i suspect to be a bigger than stock cam. Has headers with newer exhaust, the truck sounds very nice and throaty. It has the C6 automatic transmission backed with the typical NP205 transfercase. King pin Dana 60 front axle and a Dana 60 rear axle both packed with 4.10 gears that really help give this thing some grunt, sway bars on both the front and rear axles. The truck drives down the road just fine at 5 mph or 65 without a single issue. Along with the 400 in the engine bay, you'll also find a bug 4 core radiator, and factory dual horns. There is a block heater. The truck is set up with ac, but there isn't a belt on the compressor nor have I ever put one on to test it. Also there is cruise control, it appears everything is there but it too is not hooked up. Inside the cab, you will find a worn out split bench seat, its still comfortable, just needs to be redone, The rear compartment has jump seats on both sides that you can leave down or fold and snap up out of the way. The truck also has working delay wipers, a nice tilt steering column with no slop, the heater works and blows warm air and the tank selector switch works. Sometime its reads the front tank a little funny but never had any issues with it not switching from tank to tank. The truck does have a rust repair on the drivers side floor pan. they simply rivited a piece of sheet metal over the the hole and didn't trim anything away so it appears there is enough material to do a quality floor pan replacement if so desired. The passenger side appears to be solid and just fine. The drivers side of the truck has small rock chips that have surface rust in them and the bed has what I would call "acne" on the front half of the bed to about the wheel well. It looks like rock chips that were sprayed over with a rattle can and have started to bubble. It appears to be only surface rust due to the fact that when you look at the back side of the sheet metal, it looks solid, and this is only on the driver side. the previous owner had gone over the truck and spray painted certain areas of the truck, my guess is to help protect the truck from any corrosion. So like I said, this is a solid and decent all around truck for its age. If there's anything I have left out in the description of pictures, feel free to ask and happy bidding.Truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to pull the ad at anytime.
