This 1973 Ford Ranchero 500 5.8L 351Cu. In. Cleveland V8 GAS OHV Naturally Aspirated has been extensively refurbished, but I would not consider it fully restored.
Car sat in an California garage for 2 years after the husband passed away. I believe the car has 74,000 miles
Very straight California no rust car. It has been repainted it's original blue metallic paint. This is the original 351 Cleveland 2V engine (not rebuilt). The two barrel Holley carb and factory manifold were replaced with a 1406 electric choke Edelbrock 4 barrel carb and aluminum Edelbrock manifold. It runs and starts excellent (no smoke). Radiator is new, the distributor is new and the points were replaced with the Pertronix Flamethrower electronic ignition. The stock coil was replaced with an Accel high output coil. The Interstate battery is new. Spark plugs and wires are new. It has new chrome valve covers with new gaskets, new pan gasket, new K&N air cleaner & a mild cam.
Excellent performance. Very peppy compared to the stock original two barrel set up.
The transmission has been fully serviced and shifts well. I'm told it is a 3 speed FMX automatic transmission.
The interior has a new dash, new carpet (all the way back into the storage area behind seats), new factory correct covered split bench and looks and smells new.Has Pioneer AM-FM-CD-Bluetooth stereo installed with 4 speakers. Sounds super!
Much of the dual exhaust system is new. Has a nice mellow rumble sound. see/here (video)?
The moldings and emblems were shaved from the sides and front and aluminum and bumpers color key for a more modern streamlined look. Emblams on front
The bed is black Rhino lined, so it can actually be used to haul things.
The original A/C unit works and is charged. Everything works as it should. It drives and handles very well. Brakes were in good condition when inspected.
Has new BF Goodrich raised white letter 15" radial tires and 70's era American Racing Gunmetal Wheels installed on the car. Narrower tires in front and wider at rear. Tinted glass is good, chrome is good (no pitting).
Correct Ford racing stripes on newer gorgeous Cobalt Blue paint; custom louvered hood; sport mirrors;Tonneau cover set up & Factory tow package. ...with a Marti Report;
It's a sharp car inside and out. Oct 2016 NADA guides price report shows $32,495 as High Retail (for a fully restored show car). It shows a value of $19,035 as Average Retail for the 500 model and according to the NADA condition description this Ranchero is closer in condition to High Retail. It is not a 20 footer, as they describe. Looking to sell near average.
This would be an excellent driver car or take it to the local car shows on weekends.
Collector, classic and muscle cars are steadily going up each year due to demand and limited supply. The return has been much better than any savings account I can find.
