1963 Ford Thunderbird Additional Info:
1963 Ford Thunderbird mild custom. Deep blue metalflake paint (fine multicolor flake) Light blue scallops and medium blue flames. Old school pinstriping on hood and decklid (see photos)New steel wheels with new Lancer hubcaps. Car is on air ride by Airride Technoligies (older style system) Some minor dechroming and new custom tube grille by Glory Grilles. Car was originally a California car and have some traceability to original owner. No signs of any rust repair ever on body.Chrome bumpers appear as new and other chrome is nice. Original 390 engine runs well and automatic transmission shifts smoothly with no slipping. Airride system lets you lower car all the wayto the ground with lake pipes just touching the pavement. Then lift up for safe highway clearance and driveability. Lake pipes are hooked up and have some baffeling built into the end caps. (no additional exhaust or mufflers) Is a little loud but not terrible. Tire tread is probably 90%+ and are Silvertown Radials with 3" whitewalls. Car has power steering, ower drum brakes, ower windows, ower locks, ower drivers seat and swing away steering column. Interior and trunk upholstery is like new with white rolled and pleated throughout. Trunk is beautifully done with built in amplifiers (2) and built in airride system coverand custom fire extinguisher compartment and chrome extinguisher. Sound system is custom autosound with 9 speakers and 2 amps. The blue paint is older and the flames and scallops were applied by hand by local artist. The paint is not show quality but looks great for driver quality. Taillight lenses are custom also with a blend of original and 59 Cadillac for "Rocket" theme. This car really attracts attention with its paint scheme and colorsand drives and rides very well. The white rolled and pleated interior really fits the Kustom theme and the sound system has provisions for external(ipod or phone) hookup. The "swing away" steering column allows for easy entrance and exit. All the gauges work as does the add on tachometer. Wipers work but blades aretaken off and bullet caps are inplace but includes original blades and arms. All lights and signals work and taillight lenses are a blend of 59 cad and stock for the"rocket" theme. The factory 390 engine runs and sounds great and the factory automatic transmission shifts great. Rear axle ratio is unknown butseems to be low to mid three's for good all around driveability. The car should be upgraded to a dual master cylinder for safety as it still retains the original single pot cylinder though it stops well as is. The air conditioning system needs to be checked out and finished but allpieces are in place with some being new (compressor, rackets and etc.) The original power steering system has aleak inone of the hoses and should be replaced but I have been driving the car as it is and just keep an eye on the fluid level. The base color is Chrysler intense blue metallic with prismatique(multicolor) In the bright sun the flake is very prominent and as the sun goes off the car the flake almost disappears and looks more dark metallic blue. The base color is older but still shines well. The scallops are airbrushed in a custom mixed light blue and the flames are a medium blue applied by local pinstripe artist. The flames and scallops are outlined in silver pinstriping and the old schoolstriping on the hood and deck are well executed and fit the design well. The rocket bird logo on corner of deck lid includes several of the styling cues from the car. The is a beautiful daily driver and cruise in andfun car to take to shows. It is not an all out big dollar show car but aquires as many looks and trophys as the big dollar guys. I would consider a trade or partial trade for one of the following. Ford sedan delivery 1938 through 1948 Chevrolet sedan delivery from 1937 through 1940, r 1958 through 1960. 1959 or 1960 El Camino.Any pre 1948 ford of equal value. Cadillac custom from 1959 through 1967. No boats, otorcycles or late modelstuff. $1000.00 dollar deposit required within 24 hours of end of auction and balance due within seven days. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I have driven this car on several 200 mile trips with no issuesbut it is a 53 year old car and would be at buyers discretion to make a long trip home in it.
